  1. Jays & Cubs to the finals! Jays in 6!!!! :)
  2. Jim it says the link is an error on my computer???
  3. uship.com Had my boat delivered from Utah to Texas under $1000
  4. Get yourself into the Radar family and a 68" ski. Get yourself some new bindings at the same time. For everything you're doing a set of one or two year old new Stradas is perfect. Comfortable and safe as the liners will release from the ski should you have a terrible wreck? As @Waternut said above you are going to be amazed at the new technology of any new ski you buy vs what you are going to screw on your garage wall for nostalgia sake. Have fun and good luck.
  5. I used uship when we bought our Carbon Pro. As stated above put your boat in the listings, drivers bid on it. Talk to the seller and ensure the bearings and tires are good. What's the downside a few miles on the tires? The bids were much higher for guys with goose necks than guys willing to pull it.
  6. I had to replace my old cables and battery on my last boat. Same thing 04 - 196LE. She never missed a beat and still runs like a charm for the people that bought her from me.
  7. Interesting place to be going? I spent many years working in the area and living not far from there. Matter of fact my wife is from a small community a little ways away from there. Have fun there is some beautiful country up in the area. Especially the Peace River, the river valley, and make sure you take the time to go see the Dunvegan Bridge. They were repainting it the last time I crossed it about 4 years ago. The valley will be beautiful with the leaves changing colours.
  8. @Moskier3ev - thanks Jeff appreciate it! It is a piece of skier paradise no doubt!
  9. Any time @gt2003! The world is small and friendships develop in many ways. Nice to see that our love of a sport brought us together and created a friendship that will last long beyond our skiing days! It was great meeting the two of you and having you enjoy our home and our ski site. Hope you can do it again soon!!! :)
  10. I never got injured ut the ski I was riding suffered an un-repairable handle ding from the piece still stuck to the rope!
  11. So last night three of us were on the water skiing together and the discussion of edge changing and initiating the edge change came up between us when we were switching skiers. All 3 of us are very different in our abilities, speeds, and line lengths for the record. Interesting that the discussion brought up the following question - What or where are you looking at when you finish the turn, load, and pull for the next buoy? And how does that help you initiate your edge change? Me personally I look at the back corner of the boat at the end of my turn than once I'm loaded I try to focus on the first wake which helps me feel the first wake and then initiate my edge change. Once my change starts I try to look about 15 feet in front of my next buoy to keep my angle into the start of my turn. I know a whole bunch of you on BOS are way better than I am but it struck me when all three of us had different focuses. So here it is - WHAT DO ALL OF YOU LOOK AT AFTER YOU LOCK & LOAD?
  12. I'm currently waiting on my 16 to arrive. Currently riding a Limited Edition red 2014 after selling my blue 15 model. Personally I still really miss my blue 15 ski. Starting to find better results on my 14 after resetting the fin and a few rides. Still haven't matched a PB on the 14 that I set on the 15 but after my rides last night I can feel it getting closer and closer. After all that................I sure wish I could post a picture of a long Radar box sitting at my house waiting for me when I arrive home! :(
  13. I agree with @brody. Some skis just don't work for people. I say that and have watched others jump on skis and rip right up the line however even those skiers ski differently on different skis. I have purchased a few skis over my short ski life and every ski has made me a bit better. Even the guys I ski with compliment the progression I have made. I'm 49 years old and 2 years ago couldn't run a pass at 15 off. Yesterday was 28 off again on my current ski and had me smiling coming off the water. My new ski should be here at the end of Sept and I can't wait to rock it too!
  14. Get them to have their own liability insurance and draw up a contract that releases you and your site from all liability. Shouldn't be too hard.
  15. FWIW - I like the handicap idea. I have actually created an Excel spread sheet that can track and maintain someone's current handicap at speed and line length. It rotates like golf somewhat over you last pass and previous 9 passes so you're handicapped based on your last 10 passes at any given line length and speed. My hope was to sell a ski league to the Houston and surrounding areas using this format but I think it might actually work for something like this in a big picture too. As with golf the real handicap is based on honesty. There are sandbaggers in every sport that ruin it for the rest. In the end if you cheat you're really only cheating yourself too. My sheet isn't huge and anyone with better Excel knowledge then myself could probably turn it into something even better! :) Basically it will allow say someone with a handicap/average of say 4 @ 35 off - 36 mph against someone who has an average of 4 @ 15 off - 28 mph because as much as you're skiing against each other you are each also skiing against your handicap. I could be so far out in left field that I'm in outer space but I actually think it could work without all the regulations and such that govern regular tournaments. Also it would bring all teams in on the same level unlike the comparison or issues @Chef23 raised when looking at the members of his site vs other sites in FL, LA, or TX for that matter.
  16. Overtons has them on sale lots too
  17. Have never used them and therefore can't really comment. It's interesting reading all of the comments, pros & cons, difference of opinions etc. My question is this: I spend a sh*t load of money on water skis as do a majority of you all on this site. If you spent $1000 - $1800 on a new ski and it started coming apart would you accept an answer from the manufacturer saying just run down to Home Depot and get some Gorilla glue and put it back together? I know I wouldn't and I would certainly want to share my experience with others. FWIW - again I am not supporting the supplier or the purchaser here just stating that when one pays a fair amount of money for something they expect to get quality products and support. Seems like this might not have happened in this case? I have seen other threads on other products on here as well where products weren't right or even received and customer support wasn't existent. And it has been well documented on here. I like it as it really helps me think before making big purchases or taking risks!
  18. @teammalibu thanks so much dude. Already getting repaired and will be a spare in the future for those OH SH*T moments.
  19. Local ski shop happens to have one in stock! :)
  20. Bought Lithium Vapor from Florida. Ski arrived yesterday and I went to set the ski up to my settings. Bolts seized in due to lime in water and not being removed and cleaned regularly. Stripped the hex heads out of the bolts in fin block. Taking to machine shop today to get last bolt out but I'm not sure of the type and measurement of the bolt? Are they standard with all manufacturers? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
  21. I have a CP so might be a bit bias. That said friend owns one and another is a promo guy. Nice rides.
  22. Welcome to the addiction! Ask @gt2003 if it's addicting? :) Good coaching will help you a ton and as @GOODESkier says no matter what level we are all still working on a lot of the same things no matter the line length!
  23. @GOODESkier - agree totally there will always be something better in the future. Water skis are like electronics as soon as you buy one it seems the next best thing comes out and you wished you would have waited. Like a lot of others I enjoy purchasing new things but lesson learned on not waiting to sell before the new purchase arrives! :)
