  1. You want a boat with a nice wake because you ski but your friends wakeboard? Get a boat with a wake YOU WANT! If your friends don't like it tell them to buy their own boat! LOL This was just posted recently. Nice wake and a good boat too: http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/boa/5077697911.html
  2. @ShaneH were you behind the boat at all or just behind the wheel creating havoc for the skiers? :)
  3. Mine reset when I changed the battery and put in a new one. Looks great but I was honest with the people who bought it.
  4. LOL @ShaneH - don't lead the poor guy down the road to your house!!!! :)
  5. Can't wait to get mine. 11 days and counting! :)
  6. We be hunkering down for another drop of too much rain here in Southeast Texas. Tropical Storm Bill will be hitting land anytime now and giving us more of what we would really like to send west to California! Damn!
  7. @15boi - no I haven't I hope to get it here within the next two weeks.
  8. I responded to your pm Jody! Vern is a great guy! I lived 15 minutes away from him for 5 years and never met the man until after I moved to Houston while on a work trip back to Canada. I keep inviting him down to ski on a stop over while he is en-route to Orlando but I think his excitement to get to the big O won't allow him to stay! LOL :)
  9. Ya my man in Canada ol Verno speaks very very highly of @Jody_Seal - good guys aren't always easy to find!
  10. @gt2003 - you have lots of choices when you come visit. :)
  11. @Jody_Seal I will take it. Can you send me an email contact that I can send you a couple pics so we are sure it's right? Or message me on here and I will send you my cell and email info.
  12. That's all I need is the bearing assembly. $250 is much better than $500+
  13. I need the rebuild kit for the body that holds the shaft It's leaking out the front where it attaches to the pulley
  14. Does anyone have a motor they are parting out? I'm looking for a water pump for a PCM 5.7 liter Nautique 196LE. Part number is RA057034 from Nautique Parts. Just don't think almost $700 is realistic. Appreciate any help thanks.
  15. Can't wait to get mine! 2 weeks or less I'm hoping?
  16. @scuppers I'm sorry but I disagree that our sport suffers only because "IT'S TOO HARD" What's too hard is to change the mind set of the governing bodies! Without that change the sport will never see growth. @Jody_Seal hit the nail hard on the head with a lot of his points and so does @Kelvin. How pathetic is a system and it's organizers or controllers that stop growth. Wake boarding is hard to get good at yet look at the growth in that sport last 10 years! Hell they don't even need boats anymore to play. And golf is harder yet to become good without practice and being able to get involved. I'm new to the USA and really new to the sport of skiing when it comes to chasing buoys vs skiing in open water. But I'm getting involved and I'm learning. One thing I've learned is it is difficult when ideas and thoughts can't change or if minds that run the sport can't adapt and change to allow growth and participation. People talk about the amount of money it costs? My family spent less on our first ski boat than people today pay for small fishing boats with 9.9 horse power motors on them at Bass Pro Shop, and yet we went out and ski'd. As we grew with the sport we upgraded when & where we could afford too. It can change and get better if the minds at the top listen to the ones who really love the game!
  17. @ShaneH you go hard you window licker! I'd gladly hang on to the handle behind any boat you were steering! I spend lots of time looking at the back of Jim's head already! :) Cheaters exist everywhere in every sport or in anything where there is challenge and competition. You can sandbag all you want but eventually you get what's coming to you which is usually a good kick in the nuts and karma usually does it to you with the people you are trying to cheat against looking at you in your state of shame. If we compared our sport to golf and based our handicaps on runs, both practice and tourny's, it would give a person a true representation of how good they really are or rather the level they are at? Sure I can have be a 10 handicap golfer and plug scratch scores into the computer to make me look like a better golfer. But when going to tournaments and getting flighted with scratch golfers ..........................I will look like a complete idiot! KARMA!!! It's like me skiing against you Shane head to head..............I don;t stand a chance based on ability yet we are close in age. I love skiing and I'm the weakest skier in our community yet I ski all the time with everyone and love it. Bad days on the water mixed with good ones and keep hacking away at trying to improve. That said I won't drive an hour or two or more to attend a tournament because I can't compete with the system set up the way it is. The INT isn't a common circuit or loop (even the web site is out of date). If they want growth changes are necessary as they are in every sport.
  18. Mine never dry out either unless I don't ski for a week which rarely happens!!!
  19. I got some of this. Looks amazing on youtube. slimygrimy.com
  20. This is a topic that was widely discussed and focused on at our clinic here last weekend with Trent Finlayson. Even the best skiers here needed to find how and where to keep their hips up. Along with keeping your hips up handle control is huge. If you lose the handle after transition and it gets away from your hips good luck getting it back. Especially on longer lines where you have to work harder. Understanding this from Trent last weekend has taken me up 2 mph and increased my buoy count. Here's another thought for you guys from Trent too.........thinking of your hands and where you want them at the end of the turn so you can exit the turn aligned and stacked...........you exit the turn in the same position you enter it!!!!!! It's true!!!!
  21. Cheating on ones scores in golf or in skiing will eventually come out and the only person one is really cheating is themselves! It will come out in the end when they have to prove it.
  22. @ToddL my point is exactly what you had mentioned above. Ski at a tournament at any site against competitors that are at your level. Give out an award, take pictures, and submit scores. If the scores are needed for a skier for a ranking then so be it submit them to count. This way a person can go to Regional tournaments and then compete in their division based on the rules of the AWSA for Nationals. My total point is it's fun to compete against people within your caliber of skiing for the days event. I'm not looking at changing the way the world sets their ratings, rankings, divisions, or even their rules. Hell at my age the only reason alone I would even want to attend a tournament is to compete for fun with guys at my level while I try to get better. I could care less about my scores going into whatever division I would be placed in anyways. At my site I ski with guys that show me exactly where I sit and how good I am! I don't need to go to a tournament to see that. Maybe what @Chef23 & @jcamp are saying needs to be looked at too? Can one work with and compliment the other vs. competing against each other for the growth of the sport and the AWSA? I'm only putting my two cents into the game for fun and growth and I just don't see the current model working for either AWSA or INT.
  23. Your ski gear + handle are the obvious but pack a lunch, cooler full of drinks, lawn chair, and sunscreen if it's going to be a warm day. Find out the running order on the starting dock or sign in area and make sure you're ready to go when it's your turn. Tell the driver speed, ZO setting, then get in the water and rip it up! :)
