  1. @skialex thanks for the insight. @jenksski I am sure someone reading this can PM you with an Eagle contact email that is not a general sales email. Also try Performance, @perfski not sure if they ship overseas. sales@perfski.com
  2. 1. If this is your first comp vest just know that you will sit lower in the water. I love my eagle but I got a Stokes EVO 2 for public water because it has a lot more flotation. 2. I believe most people size up with Eagle. The chart put me in a small but when I tried it on I could not breathe. Med is perfect and I don’t think it has stretched in 5 yr of use.
  3. Cool! My skiing is so bad it inspired Horton to make a video. :) Seriously though, the best I have ever skied was after a friend told me to try shifting my front knee over my big toe. That resulted in me being wide and early for my hardest pass and I was able to repeat it three sets that day. The next time I skied it just didn't click or feel easy as before.
  4. Isn’t KD big in Australia? @ozski was talking about how much skiers are liking the Krypton. Maybe he could get you a demo ride?
  5. @Horton that’s the birthday not the model #. She has around 1100 hours and runs like a top.
  6. 15-20 sounds so much older than 2001.
  7. @Than_Bogan I think you might be on to something, my frame resembles a beanpole.
  8. If you have something listed you can always send yourself a test email. @MichaelWiebe what’s your listening #? We’ll send you 100 test emails... lol
  9. This is no where close to some of the stuff above. I was skiing at a new site, boat guide pops loose and floats out of the way, finish my set, on the last pass I decided to ski past the boat guide and scoop it up (it’s soft rubber filled with air right?). I swing out of the course, let go of the handle, ski to the yellow ball and try to pick it up as I pass it. Surprise! It’s plastic filled with foam. I jammed my finger so hard it was crooked for weeks until I saw orthopedic Dr.
  10. To build good muscle memory, I am thinking about, skiing next season 1mph slower at least 75% of the time. And just taking a few passes per day at full speed. Good idea or bad idea?
  11. @scoke just go ski; I meant have fun regardless of buoy count. You do have a very good point, if something isn’t working get a solid plan to fix it. @twhisper @jhughes @BraceMaker @skialex thanks!
  12. So, the days I run 15off at max speed, I made 10-15 mistakes per pass and the days I don't run it I made 16 mistakes... lol
  13. Is balance what separates a 28off skier form a 15off skier? Or to ask it a different way. What is the most important skill needed to be consistent at 15off/22off? When I think of a basic definition of balance in skiing it's, weight distribution front to back in the correct proportion. Obviously, different segments of a pass will require a different percentage of front foot pressure (% weight forward). Those of you who are advanced skiers, feel free to correct me if this basic idea of balance is flawed. What’s the point of this post? Is lack of “skiing” balance my main issue with inconsistency? One day I can run 22off early & wide (34mph) and the next day I can’t run 15off (same; boat, driver, lake, water temp, ZO setting). Is balance in the course one of those things, “You just have it” or you don’t? Maybe it’s not balance but, actually slow reaction time? Reaction time as in, not responding quickly at the transition from pre-turn into the turn. Example of slow reflexes; skier is too slow to shift a small percent of weight forward going into the turn. Then there is not enough of the ski in the water to get it to finish the turn with good cross course angle. I am NOT trying to over complicate this! It’s just frustrating when something you think should be easy doesn’t work. If I was not born with the athletic talent to advance past my current level, it would help to know this so I don’t set expectations too high. Just Go Ski! Disclaimer: I have had coaching from four good coaches and it has made a huge difference. Before I got pro level coaching I unable to run 15off at 26mph.
  14. @oldjeep I assume when my boat was new it had a Acme 515 CNC.
  15. @oldjeep also last time I looked at the OJ website you could still buy the classic Legend (non-CNC) prop. They must still offer it for those guys that want to save a few pennies. Edit: “The original LEGEND is a design handed down from the originator, Oscar Johnson. This hand crafted 3-blade has been a consistent performer for many years. The LEGEND 3-blade is still a popular choice for its performance and affordability.”
  16. I bought the ‘01 boat used and it was on the boat when I got it. Just based off how it looks I don’t think it’s a cnc (no groves on the blades). When did CNC become standard? You know there are a lot of guy’s still enjoying early 90’s boats.
  17. It would be interesting to know how many Ballers have upgraded to a CNC prop, kept the same diameter & pitch and seen an increase in performance? Hole shot, max speed, less vibration, overall smoothness or possibly wake?
  18. Last year I got an OJ 13 x 11.5 just to have a spare. Wow! Put it on my Lx with 5.7 and it has a better hole shot for short setups. Edit: new prop vs. non-CNC 13 x 12. And I didn’t loose any on the top end due to added performance of a CNC prop, still getting 46-47mph GPS speed.
  19. family activity - hiking the Blue Ridge. Also, I have some guns that are lonely in the safe.
  20. @Horton get a Radar Union and post video so we can do an A to B comparison.
  21. Glad you friend was there. Get well soon.
  22. @Chef23 if I remember correctly a few years ago they switched the Alloy Senate to all carbon (no fiberglass). @allycat I am sure your son will be happy with either ski but I would lean to the 2019. At 137 lb a 67” would be too big for him.
  23. @A_B This is what it’s supposed to look like. This is a friend of mine, he’s not too slow, he earned his USPSA Master’s rating in Limited. The best stages are at 0:30 – 3:09.
  24. Excellent! I enjoy the tech talk episodes and ones about the people of waterskiing, but definitely prefer the latter.
