Baller A_B Posted July 28, 2010 Baller Share Posted July 28, 2010 At 225 lbs I had no trouble on any of the 68" skis, and they ALL out-skied the 69" skis that I tried.Tried a Goode 9700, D3, Monza, Senate C, also tried a 68.5 A1 early this year.I think the 68"Z1 I am on right now has some promise, if I can get it to turn faster. My theroy, right or wrong, is that the long boards are just "grossed" up numbers by the manufacturers and do not perform nearly as well as the 68" or 67" models. If you can find a 67" Senate C, that might be a good low-priced alternative.  I liked my 69" C, but found 32 and 35 off easier on my 67" (really a 68") Goode 9500. The 69" was just too big for my style (if I have one).
Baller Ed_Johnson Posted July 28, 2010 Baller Share Posted July 28, 2010 The 66" Goode Wide Ride would work geat for you. We are the same weight......ED
Baller Chef23 Posted July 28, 2010 Baller Share Posted July 28, 2010 I am 230 pounds (and have skied at 240) and am on a 68.75" HO A1. It has been a great ski for me and I am running into 35 off for the first time. I would recommend it highly for a big guy. I did find the 68" D3X5 to be a little small. I think there are a lot of good options for bigger skiers right now as a lot of the skis are being designed to ride higher in the water and are faster. That is good for us bigger guys although I am trying to become a bit of a smaller guy.
