Baller RazorRoss3 Posted March 24, 2015 Baller Share Posted March 24, 2015 So at ski school last week we were skiing 6.2 liter prostars. Half way through the week I was told that they had changed my setting from my usual C1 which I had used with the 5.7 liter prostar and the TXI to B1 on account of the stronger engine. They also suggested I use the B1 for the Nautique. I was just wondering what other ballers did for settings between the boats.
Baller drewski32 Posted March 24, 2015 Baller Share Posted March 24, 2015 Can someone explain exactly how the + works? I hope I'm not derailing the thread
Baller LeonL Posted March 24, 2015 Baller Share Posted March 24, 2015 Most noticeable difference is increased speed at the gate.
Baller_ The_MS Posted March 24, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted March 24, 2015 I use B2 on everything except the 6L 200 which I use C1. I have not skied the 6L Carbon Pro but being that it is PCM I may try C1 there also.
Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted March 24, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted March 24, 2015 B-2 on anything 5.7 C-1 on 6.0 Nautiques. Tried the plus mode... Hang on we are going through the gate!!! Wahoo! What a ride!
Baller RazorRoss3 Posted March 24, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted March 24, 2015 So it seems there is little rhyme or reason to setting changes between boats since it sounds like @ms does the perfect opposite of what I did. This sport keeps getting more confusing if now I need to not only ski every setting to find my favorite but also ski every setting on every boat. At what point does this turn into too much of a head game? + setting included that's 18 settings by 5 boats (CP, TXI, N200, PS5.7, PS6.2) is 90 possible combinations. While I would gladly take enough sets to find my setting on each boat, how many of us actually have the time to do that?
Baller_ The_MS Posted March 24, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted March 24, 2015 I never figured out the 6L 200 until last summer when @Jody_Seal told me to use C1 after I struggled for 2 rounds with the 6L. It felt just like normal. Thanks Jody.
Baller RAWSki Posted March 25, 2015 Baller Share Posted March 25, 2015 I have to agree with @RazorRoss3 18 settings is just crazy but we have it for the foreseeable future. 3 seems like it should be plenty as long as it's consistent for everyone. I can't think of another sport that has that many participant variables. What is the thinking in going with C1 on the 6L boats? They way I understand ZO I would actually think A1 or A2 would be the proper choice?
Baller thager Posted March 25, 2015 Baller Share Posted March 25, 2015 I normally use C2 but have used C 1 for the past few years on the larger engines to get the same feel of 5.7L
Baller skierjp Posted March 27, 2015 Baller Share Posted March 27, 2015 I'll bet I could change the settings on 75 percent of you skiers and you guys couldn't tell the difference!
Baller_ The_MS Posted March 27, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted March 27, 2015 I wont give you numbers but I could tell you what sucks and what doesn't suck.
Baller RazorRoss3 Posted March 27, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted March 27, 2015 I couldn't tell between B1 and C1 on the prostar but I chalk that up to early season. I thought I was just skiing better and had brushed off the cobwebs mid season I've been able to tell between B and C. Never skied an A.
Ghibli
@drewski32 All plus settings load quicker than all non-plus settings. C+ quicker than B+. And all plus setting have a maximum g-load greater than non-plus setting. 2+ greater than 1+. Clear as mud right.....And plus settings have a faster gate speed than non-plus settings, 1.6% greater than target compared to 0.75% greater. Isn't this fun....I'd rather just ski. How about ZO with only an on/off button....
Baller thager Posted March 28, 2015 Baller Share Posted March 28, 2015 @skierjp I am 25% certain you are wrong!
Baller skierjp Posted March 28, 2015 Baller Share Posted March 28, 2015 I'll add that if you don't run 35 consistent you probably won't know I changed the setting.
Baller RazorRoss3 Posted March 28, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted March 28, 2015 Most skiers who ski consistently well with good technique would likely be able to tell regardless of score. I think it's safe to say that the majority of ballers on here would be able to tell the difference if they have ZO on their practice boat. If they only see ZO at tournaments that's a different story.
