Skiing in or near LA

Hi Guys,

I'm coming to the US for a family holiday in April, be spending 9 days in LA doing theme parks etc. then 8 night cruise down to Mexico, back in LA for 6 more days. Looking to squeeze in a couple of sets if possible. Any suggestions on sites and availability? Probably wont bring my ski gear so I'll need a site that I can "demo" stuff.

Such great weather there year round and hardly any ski sites. Such a shame !

Probably the closest skiing to LA is at @Horton 's house in the Central Valley, about 2.5 hours north of LA. I bet he has lots of extra ski gear.

@aussiemc I am actually about 1 1/2 hours north of downtown LA. I have skis but they are all 67s and I do not have bindings and other gear to loan. Shoot me an email and we can work out the details. Horton@BallOfSpray.com

 

As a side note: What are you going to do in LA for all that time. California is a beautiful place but LA is not really a tourist city.

when will you be in LA? We've been getting rain. Canyon Lake is really dirty right now and full of drift wood from all the run off, not worth skiing it right now.

Thanks for your offers & replies, I'm about to head off to drive the Australian Junior Masters tournament at Stoney Park for the weekend, so I'll be in touch next week and start organising some dates.

@aussiemc say hi to Cole and Erin for me when you get to Stoney Park. My lake is only a couple thousand miles from LA, but I would be happy to give you a pull at Lodi if you ever get to St. Louis. Cole and Erin can tell you all about the lake.
