The start of season?

@Web the meaning of the word is "You fish on your side of the river, I'll fish on my side of the river, and nobody fishes in the middle". I believe it is the longest word in the Cherokee language. I was taught it by an school science teacher in 6th grade. So I taught it to my 2 girls when they were young. They were never quite sure it was real until they saw it used on an episode of Gillmore Girls. My credibility went way up after that.

My boat guy said he did not advise de-winterizing yet. It is getting to the mid 20's at night here still. So may have to hold off another week or so. I got a new wetsuit, so am getting anxious to get out there. Which accounts for all my activity here. Too much keyboard time, not enough boat time.

Aggravated an old shoulder injury yesterday, might be a few weeks before i can get back out there again. Been out 5 tines so far this year though.

Had the boat out for some cruising again Sat and Sunday - too choppy for skiing, and pulled the in-laws LXI out of storage Sunday. The weather for the next week looks awful, so maybe in another week.

Hopefully be skiing by next week. Took the boat out and ran it around on Sunday and had a hang out day....with some rain. Ski lake is super high due to the river flow and snow melt.... Guess we will see and new ski binding shows up on Thursday!

Started on the 20th. Been out 3 times so far. Not going again for a few days because it is going to rainy and cold in Mass.

Our course was put in this past Sunday and we are started here in Northwest Illinois!

Got started in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. Water & air 46F. Took a cooler of warm water as someone here suggested. Worked great.

It has started here in Mass. 80* today and a number of boats out on the lake. Unfortunately all I can do is watch.

@Fam-man where near Medicine Hat is that? I grew up near Swift Current Sk and my family still has a cabin in Cypress Hills. I go back to visit the cabin often and hadn't really considered getting some skiing in while home (but love the idea of it!!!).

@david_quail that is Rattlesnake Lake. We access through Golden Shief Park. It is 20 minutes west of Medicine Hat.

Four very short sets since April 21...drysuit in all of them so far. Not that I ski that well mid season, but the way i ski now it's a stretch to even think i could get there eventually...good news is it happens this way every year so it minimizes my level of current "depression"...actually it is a blast just to be back in the water.

Looking forward to having @Chef23 coming over to drive and enjoy an outing with me...soon.

First ski run of the season yesterday on Lake Oroville. 1.5mm top on and the water wasn't bad, just had to keep an eye out for debris. Gave us a chance to give the boat an opening up also.

Only been out once so far in early April. Hoping to remedy that this week. Last year we skied on March 12th. That's a record that might stand for a while with my crew.

6 weeks later then originally planned but FINALLY got the course out of the weeds and straightened. The S.Alberta wind and crew availability has really made things a challenge.

Skied my first in-course set of the year last night at sundown and I've been smiling ear to ear since. I've got some coaching lined up in July and was starting to think I wasn't going to even see the course before that.

Better late then never!!
