Baller KRoundy Posted August 9, 2019 Baller Posted August 9, 2019 This is simply a post to share the joy I am feeling today - I was invited by a friend to ski a course with him this morning and for the first time in my adult life (I'm 52) I ran the course! Both gates and everything, a legit full pass. 15 off 30 MPH. I came back and got 3 at 32. I'm so PUMPED! I can't stop smiling and just wanted to share here. I have skied a lot, lost a lot of weight, and all that effort paid off. Woo hoo! I love this sport.
Baller jjackkrash Posted August 9, 2019 Baller Posted August 9, 2019 I looks like you are near Seattle; If you ever want to hop of the ferry to Port Orchard and ski the pads at Long Lake send me a PM.
Baller epnault Posted August 9, 2019 Baller Posted August 9, 2019 Nice job. If you skied that great on the first try you are going to progress fast until your head starts messing you up. Ha ha :)
Baller Chris Rossi Posted August 9, 2019 Baller Posted August 9, 2019 Nothing like it! Welcome to the ski addiction club!
Baller Dockoelboto Posted August 9, 2019 Baller Posted August 9, 2019 If you find yourself in the Olympia area and want to ski a private lake let me know.
Baller vtmecheng Posted August 9, 2019 Baller Posted August 9, 2019 Great thing about Slalom is that you will be grinning just as much after making your first pass at 32 mph, 34 mph, 22 off, etc.
Baller KRoundy Posted August 9, 2019 Author Baller Posted August 9, 2019 @epnault - This was NOT my first try. I have been attempting the course for a few years with only moderate improvements. I upgraded equipment, have been free skiing a lot, and as mentioned have lost quite a bit of weight. All that effort and the long journey makes today's success just that much more gratifying. @jjackkrash & @Dockoelboto Thanks for the offers! I appreciate it. If you ever make it up towards Lake Stevens and want to ski please drop me a line!
Baller_ Rednucleus Posted August 10, 2019 Baller_ Posted August 10, 2019 @KRoundy Congratulations! I see we are neighbors - Wed evenings I am part of a foursome we call the "Wednesday Night Men's Dinner Club" at Bow Lake. All the skiing your body can take, then a huge meal after. Cocktails in the hot tub if desired. Our Kevin is gone this week, wondering if you would like to take his place? PM me if interested!
Baller SkiSlipper67 Posted August 11, 2019 Baller Posted August 11, 2019 Is dinner served at the Alger Bar and Grill? lol
Baller_ Rednucleus Posted August 11, 2019 Baller_ Posted August 11, 2019 @SkiSlipper67 we cook at the lake and crank out an amazing meal - guaranteed to please - usually finish with homemade ice cream but our desert chef is MIA this Wed
Baller So_I_Ski Posted August 11, 2019 Baller Posted August 11, 2019 @SkiSlipper67 skiing, followed by an amazing meal and topped off with homemade ice cream?? Holy shit, that sounds better than an orgasm which is sadly only a memory since they roto rootered my prostate. Bastards!
Baller_ Rednucleus Posted August 11, 2019 Baller_ Posted August 11, 2019 @So_I_Ski Kelowna is a bit of a drive to Bow, but you are welcome as well and I have a spare bed so you don't have to drive home the same night! Maybe car pool with @SkiSlipper67?!
Baller So_I_Ski Posted August 12, 2019 Baller Posted August 12, 2019 @Rednucleus thank you very much for the invite. I will seriously consider it and while I'm at it, thanks for all the input on my motor problem. I'll get back to you on both topics.
