High Pitched Whine PS 6.0

I'm hearing a very high pitched whine that sounds like it is coming from the LCD area but is just being sent back to me from the windshield. This is a PS with the 6.0

I'm trying to think if this is the fan that is mounted in front of the engine that to force air flow.

It is driving me a little nuts as we go for a slow cruise and all I can hear is this high pitch. It almost sounds like a power supply type whine from a computer.

 

Has anyone else had this issue?

Mine is a 5.7, it has that noise, it's not the fan I unplugged it. Doesn't bother me much my ears are pretty shot, really does sound like a power supply I haven't cared enough to chase it down. Best of luck

Similar sound in our ‘15 possibly. It was a whistle from the heater vents when closed. I had to make sure all heater were open to eliminate it.

Check your high pressure fuel pump for the noise, if it’s coming from there your fuel filter is most likely partially blocked reducing fuel flow.

@mmskiboat not specific to the ProStar .... some of the screens on current boats have I high pitch whine. I hate it too.

@horton I thought it might be the screen but when I turn the key, so screen is on but do not start there is no noise.

 

@swc5150 You had the noise even without the heater on?
