Whatever happened to all the hype behind ZO + setting (A.K.A. the Easter egg)?

I guess I still don’t understand why we couldn’t just have trick mode with timing added to it.

People say the boat manufactures control this or that we don’t need to let them. Just tell them if they want their boat in the tournament it will have trick mode with timing added to it no gate BS or anything else

Was it too much of an advantage to heavier skiers so someone didn’t like it?

Does anyone know specifically what is happening in trick mode? Does it respond immediately (faster than C, which no-one uses?) How much throttle to make the needed correction? When the speed drops, does it just bring it back to the set speed? Will larger/stronger skiers times be in tolerance?

@ScottScott

There is a parameter the limits the number of revs or the % of revs the engine can increase after the skier pulls it down. With trick mode that limit is much higher than it is with basic slalom mode. In trick mode the boat can accelerate faster over a shorter distance to get back to the baseline speed.

@Horton so it allows a faster correction than a "3"? how much does it drop before making that correction (relative to A,B,C) then does it just go back to set speed or higher then back down in such a way that times would average in tolerance.

Point being, that once trick mode is modified to work for tournament slalom, would it still feel the way so many people seem to like it?

@ScottScott nope it's different than the letters and numbers. The letters and numbers define the timing and the shape of the throttle curve. Trick mode allows the throttle curve to be larger.

Dumb Question, in cable ski competition does the speed very for more load at the finish of the turn or is it a constant speed. Just asking, have no knowledge. Just what I've seen on U-tube.
