Malibu 1996 Sunsetter throttle issue

Anyone have a suggestion on how to fix the following: when I am at ski speed- 32mph and take my hand off the throttle, it pops back up which is also Messing up the perfect pass.

@Ward28 check davids post most of the mechanical throttles dont have a good friction adjustment or if they do it makes everything stiffer.

 

Cable brake on throttle cable offsets the throttle return spring force required for PP to be used properly.
