Baller skihacker Posted August 12, 2021 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2021 I have no clue if that's 2 1/4 but it has to get some sort of title!?!?
Baller RazorRoss3 Posted August 12, 2021 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2021 I don’t think control was lost until the ski left the water, but from this angle I can’t tell if the ski left the water before or after the buoy line. Would need end course video but at -41 you can’t be outside the buoy line before you edge change which would suggest to me that the ski could not have been beyond the buoy line before if left the water. Sorry Adam, impressive effort
Baller keithh2oskier Posted August 12, 2021 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2021 Do the rules say if the ski has to be in the water? If there can be an aerial edge change, why can't their be an aerial turn? What a crash though. Hope the knees and ankles didn't get all twisted up. That's a nightmare type crash for me. Baller_ MISkier Posted August 12, 2021 Baller_ Share Posted August 12, 2021 No. I do not believe his front foot crosses the 1/4 buoy line - it's inside the buoy line. And, even if it did, he is not in skiing position at that time because: "The weight of the skier is not primarily supported by his ski or skis, and in addition the skier is unable ultimately to regain skiing position." Fun to watch, though. The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.

Baller_ RichardDoane Posted August 13, 2021 Baller_ Share Posted August 13, 2021 no, 2 as soon as the ski comes out of the water (well before the 3 ball) he's no longer in skiing position IMO love the Denali ski's ability to fly, and a great effort @adamhcaldwell

Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted August 13, 2021 Baller_ Share Posted August 13, 2021 Flying through the air over the buoy does not constitute skiing position. However I would give Adam a perfect 10 for the effort!
Baller Zman Posted August 13, 2021 Baller Share Posted August 13, 2021 @MISkier I think the weight of the ski was primarily supported by the skier. That was some awesome skiing!

Baller Zman Posted August 14, 2021 Baller Share Posted August 14, 2021 @BS74 Agree. Looked like @adamhcaldwell may have hurt his back taking a hit coming out of 3 ball. Hope it's not too bad and he heals quickly.
Administrators Horton Posted August 14, 2021 Author Administrators Share Posted August 14, 2021 @adamhcaldwell hurt himself in the prelims. I think when he landed his "Air Caldwell" he cracked or bruised a number of ribs. I'm sure he'll chime in eventually and give us the details. Baller_ Wish Posted August 14, 2021 Baller_ Share Posted August 14, 2021 The look on his face at the end of each pass in the open looked excruciatingly painful. Then that hit outa 2 ball at 39.
