We've kinda strayed off topic, but since we have......someone tell us what about Jacinta's current status.  Jumping?

When you're the GOAT, haven't been beaten in 10 years and don't even look like getting beaten for another 10 years, a real job/career has to take priority over a sport where setting world records loses you sponsors.

Nate won every event that he enterred last year and this season so far. I don't think a ski change is either required or is likely.

No but if you’re THE guy who’s pushing the boundaries of what is possible, I’d be skiing a plain black of every ski on the market (Back home of course with only your trusted crew)😉. How else are you going to know how far that boundary can be pushed?

  3. Nautique own the event and pay at least the director of the event. They make the calls ultimately. A Nautique sponsored athlete would not have copped this treatment, they clearly weren't happy with something Freddie said or did so being a MC guy made it a relatively easy call to give him a ban. Not much more to it.

I'll say it again, look at the treatment Jacinta suffered as a Nautique athlete. If there's a story they can't put as a positive news item on their website, they don't have to do or explain anything. Freddie was a threat as a potential winner of the event. Say or do something they don't like and they won't hesitate to take action.

There's no fallout here for them. We here may whinge about it and 3 people might say they won't attend or watch the event, but they sell boats come Monday at a higher price than the others. Move on.

  4. This can be caused by over-inflating as it thins out the wall of the material thus UV can break them down quicker.

We have a timber board with some prongs on it we use as a jig where we just drop the buoy into it and inflate. I just can't remember the size we allow for but it works well and also allows for the heat expansion once the buoys get the sun on them.

I have read (not validated) that the reflection off the water is worse than the sun directly beating down on the gel. Kind of makes sense but a cover is the only way to go.

@Wiltoknot sure it's worse but I would say it's kind of double. You're getting direct sunlight plus the sun reflected off the water.

  6. There is no substitute for covering the boat. Doesn't matter what product you buff on, the water will wash it away over time then with constant sun exposure when it's on the lift this will be the result. Usually happens across the back of the boat. A cover is the cheapest and easiest way to avoid these problems.
