I also think the Senate would be the better choice. I just started skiing the course this year. I'm around where your at. I ski 28 mph at 15 off. I get all 6 around 60% Of the time. I went from a 15 year old 66 kd 7000 to a 67 senate and no problems with ski being to advanced at 28 mph. I'm smaller 5.7 160 also the Senate only comes in 65 67 or 69
@wish Go to google books. Type in the boat and year. And it gives you a bunch of issues of waterski magazines. I stumbled across it one day researching my boat.
Heres some info here. pages 41 through 46 http://books.google.com/books?id=iCE2AQAAMAAJ&pg=PA45&dq=1994+brendella&hl=en&sa=X&ei=GDQUVP6GHorD8AGRo4DYAg&ved=0CB8Q6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=1994%20brendella&f=false
@Cusefan78 I hear ya on that. Back in the days I had a 71 Olds 98 with 455 rocket. Had a friend who was a mechanic and said he never saw a stock 455 with that much power. Used to blow his away.
@cusefan78 Heres the review on your boat page 102 http://books.google.com/books?id=Bx42AQAAMAAJ&pg=PA74&dq=supra+labrisa&hl=en&sa=X&ei=9zcGVKqpOI-RgwTw8YLQBQ&ved=0CEIQ6AEwBA#v=onepage&q=supra%20labrisa&f=false
@cusefan78 50 mph? You must have one heck of a gt40 Im getting 46 via gps with the 541 and my boats lighter than yours. Half tank of gas. No equipment or passengers. I checked the 1996 waterski boat review for my comp and they listed top speed with gt40 option at 46.8 so I figured I was in the ball park
@DW Thanks for the info. It appears that most people on rivers who wakeboard or use slower speeds prefer the old pp with paddle wheel. The stargazer should be fine on the river for slaloming. Will just have to do the some tweaking once in a while when we have current.
Been wanting to put a pp in my 96 supra ts6m comp ho 5.8 gt 40. I have read a lot of threads trying to educate myself on pp systems. Watching ski it again for the past few months and decided not wanting to piece together a used system. We ski on the fox river in st charles il. We have 2 courses set up. Magnets in both courses. If the waters high we have current. When waters low we have practically no current. My buddy has a 02 response lx with older pp. Last week on his boat we didnt even mess with pp going against practically no current. Earlier in the year we skied and he had me hit the arrow down 6 times when we turned to go through course against current. So if I bought a new 3 event pp stargazer. I would have to add a paddle wheel being on the river correct? From what Ive read paddle wheel only works till 22 mph and then goes to rpm mode? If all I do is slalom how usefull is that. Was lookin at this older system on ebay Aaron at pp said would work on my boat. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MASTERCRAFT-506877-PERFECTPASS-BOAT-DIGITAL-PRO-MODULE-SMART-TIMER-KIT-/190833436664?pt=Boat_Parts_Accessories_Gear&hash=item2c6e8f27f8 Then I would have to buy a paddle wheel for $129 and a display and software upgrade for $275 from pp or I could keep watching ebay and ski it again for a paddle wheel and single line display. Thanks
@6balls @wish Found the craigslist ad on that 91 supra. Says he replaced floor and carpet. Nothing about stringers. As wish said thats what you have to watch out for on the pre 92 supras with wood stringers. http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/boa/4590210910.html
Our little town on the river had some excitement last night. Maybe I can get the Wahlbergs skiing with me this morning. LOL. http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20140830/news/140839830/
Found the review for my boat in the 96 waterski mag boat buyers guide. page 102. Pretty cool checking out all the old boats. http://books.google.com/books?id=Yh42AQAAMAAJ&pg=PA5&dq=1996+boat+buyers+guide&hl=en&sa=X&ei=zNQBVOqmO5CqyASw6oKQBw&ved=0CE4Q6AEwBw#v=onepage&q=1996%20boat%20buyers%20guide&f=false
Heres my old 96 ts6m. I took graphics off and liked it so much I left them off. http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb367/foxriverat/IMG_0294.jpg http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb367/foxriverat/IMG_0300.jpg
I just received my Acme 541 today from nettles to replace my stock oj legend 13 x 13 on my 96 supra ts6m gt40 I ran mph, rpm, wot and 0 to 36 tests today with old prop. I will compare and post my results with the new Acme over the weekend.
Did you check the fuel filter in the canister and the small rubber hose it connects to. The hose gets brittle over time and cracks. I know skidim sends new hose when you order filter.
After looking into the ridesteady looks to be more for recreational or practice skiing. No timer for slalom course. Doesnt look like you can map a course in gps either. My best bet would be the pp 3 event stargazer
The 3 event stargazer no magnet timing at skier to skier is $1267 shipped. From watching the videos you can map up to 3 courses. We have 2 courses set up. And often will ski both on same run. From what I understand it will automatically recognize the course as you enter it? Our courses have magnets. I know you can also use it with magnet timing. I will have to call and see if price includes a magnetic smart timer. We also ski on a river. Usually low with not much current. But when its high and we have current is it easy to adjust on the fly.
