  1. I know this is an older thread but has anyone tried the ridesteady since they went to gps and rpm control. http://www.hydrophase.com/news/pr/hydrophase%E2%80%99s-new-ridesteady-gps-based-boat-speed-cruise-control-unparalleled-performance-features
  2. That was wild. I was wondering if they would wait till they passed
  3. leaving for open now. I`ll be representing in a black ballospray tshirt. My friends will have there yellow lab puppy in tow.
  4. Is everyone realizing the whole pylon is at a 10 degree angle from the floor to the top. It is not straight 90 degree. So no mater what kind of mount you put on top of a slide over pylon. (pvc, skidoc, easycam). You can put a wedge on top. You can put a tripod mount on it. Now adjust your camera to get skier directly behind boat. If you left it right there it would work. Now if your going to use the pvc, skidoc, ezcam to rotate on the pylon using the rope as a guide to follow skier cutting back and forth. The camera will angle higher when swiveled left or right on angled pylon. Directly behind boat will be fine. On our angled pylon you need a mount that clamps on and the pivot or swivel point must be above or independent from angled pylon guided by the rope. If I am missing something please correct me.
  5. Our supra pylons angle to the rear. You mount camera aim at skier behind boat. When skier goes back and forth the slide on pylon mount swivels left and right camera will shoot the sky on left and right. I bought a piece of pvc and a cap. Then realized it wouldnt work on my boat and gave it to my buddy for his mastercraft straight pylon.
  6. I can but dont very often. Learned about 20 years ago long line sitting on a knee board behind an old switzer. You got outside the wake. Then everyone in the switzer had to get in the bow and driver gave full throttle to get the old girl to plane out.
  7. Congratulations. If you ever get a day off during the week and you want to hit the course in the day time down here in St charles Hit me up.
  8. Well I finally made it over that hurdle. Slowed it down to 28 and got all 6 bouys twice this morning at 15 off. After I start to get more consistent with it. What should I work on next. Bumping up speed or shortening rope?
  9. Next time out I'll drop the speed down. 5'7 160 on 67 senate. I have no problem with ski sinking
  10. Making progress. Ran the course 3 weeks ago. Then high water burried the bouys and a floating tree took a few buoys out. Got back on course thurs last week mostly skiing inside bouys. Sunday morning did 16 runs through course. Last few sets made the gate and getting 4 bouys 29 mph at 15 off. Wont be long now.
  11. Sorry if it sounded like I like to break the rules. Been skiing on the lower fox for over 20 years. I work nights and can ski in the day when no ones out. (its hard to find other skiers that keep the same hours. I found 1 guy on a regular basis) Or 6am on weekends before the jetskis and tubers come out. Thats the only time to ski on the river if you want to run the course. The rest of the time I wont even go out. And this helps me see my skier pretty good http://www.overtons.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=CIPA-Extreme-Mirror&i=33592
  12. Its not going to affect me much. The dnr patrols where the drunks are. So they are always up on the chain of lakes. The lower fox river where I`m at we see them maybe once a year. We have about a 4 mile boatable stretch between dams. 1 public launch. Everyone pretty much knows each other so when they come out everyone knows there out. I guess I will keep a flag in the boat incase there ever out. But wait. Then I have to find a spotter : )
  13. 92 prostar 190 932 hours but right in your price range $6900 http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/boa/4563688127.html
  14. Not all supras were all composite in 92 only ones with rounded windshield were. Squared off windshields were still wood in 92

  16. I would take this one over that all day. http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?topic=Search&category=Comp_Boat&postid=28371
  17. That outback was an entry level budget boat. http://www.nadaguides.com/Boats/2001/Moomba/OUTBACK-SK/10123614/values
  18. It was my buddies turn to ski on his boat today. I was pumped up after skiing on Tuesday and almost making it through the course for the first time on my boat. We have been getting rain off and on in Illinois all week. Well last nights rain finally took its toll on the fox river in St Charles. The course is under water. And has me typing instead of skiing.
  19. Does the mount break? The waterproof case? Or either or. I thought I read the case where it attaches to mount was the weak link. I have the surfboard mount and a floaty backdoor. Dont know if I even want to try it on my ski now.
  20. Interested to see pictures and how you made it with the 3 inch pvc. I was at home depot last week looking for 2 1/2 inch pvc to make one. You have to special order 2 1/2 I looked at the 3 inch and it looked gigantic.
  21. Anyone have contact info for ski-doc. I click on contact on there web page and get nothing. Looking to get a camera mount for my 96 supra ts6m comp. And wondering if any they have will work.
  22. Thanks guys. I will just put the loop over pylon like Bogan and rfa said. I was just concerned with it sliding down the pylon when your skier first gets in water before rope is tight.
