  1. Best thing I ever did, Nick parsons told me to switch a couple of years ago and why it would help, dramatically improved my offside!!
  2. @TallSkinnyGuy Sac isn't that far from bako, worth the drive! @jaypro @Brooks is everywhere this summer with clinics sounds like more so than last year, I guarantee he has one in that area!!
  3. So the story of this is pretty interesting, I know a family that owns a private ski lake near by and told me some details. The lake that Kelly Slater used for the wave pool used to be Sunrise ski lake, it was a ski school. When the owners decided to sell, Kelly picked the lake up. The lake then was drained and the whole floor is covered in concrete. The power for the machine is borrowed from an air base miles away. There is a 10 foot wall around the whole property. the whole lake project was about $5,000,000 I heard, that doesn't count the research involved before hand.
  4. Hey everyone, @brooks Wilson will be out in Bakersfield, CA for 2 days doing a clinic on July 8-9. There are 18 slots for each day. $50.00 a set. We did a clinic at the same lake around the same time last year and it was super successful. Brooks is hands down of the best coaches in our sport and one of the coolest dudes to hang around with. So hurry and get your name in!
  5. Just go on youtube and search 2016 swiss pro slalom and your set. @lpskier
  6. We use a john deer gator, will launch and pull the boat out no problem.
  7. Definitely go download the app and add your ski site, very sweet idea! This app is awesome, new way of looking to connect with skiers!
  8. @richarddoane is selling his white and blue 2014 MC Prostar, boat looks awesome!! SIA35807
  9. @mwetskier lead isn't the right word, your left hip isn't going to be in front of the other, but by rotating that left hip which is a slight movement your starting the initiation of the ski flowing underneath you, Your right hip will fall into place once you start loading the rope, I completely missed it was for a lefty, I skimmed over it and just started writing.
  10. @solski like @Horton said when I stand in my glide I think about just standing up, and I use the handle as a pivot point like planting a ski pole and you rotate around it. Be sure to stand far forward on your front foot, and I think about taking that left hip and twisting it and leading with it. so the ski can turn underneath you. This will allow you to create angle without loading the rope because your standing over your ski not tipping back. You'll find yourself with more space, and not a ton of speed at 1 ball so it sets up the rhythm of the course. This is because you didn't start your actual "pull" until the white wash not way out wide off the side of the boat. Hope this helps, it takes practice but once you master it; everything clicks...
  11. This ski is spectacular! you will love it @Texas6
  12. like @Horton said not to much to do in bako. I'll tell you though some of the best skiing you will ever get is down here. @ToddF
  13. @mbabiash I have a 2014 SN 200 as well, not every boat has it as it's an option. If yours has one there's a grease fitting under the floor board behind the engine cover, its on the left side of the rudder shaft. The grease fitting has a line connected to it that goes to the back of the boat.
  14. My dad and I are insurance brokers in Southern California, Ski Safe and progressive are definitely the go-to's for us in CA. Like a few of you said Ski Safe is very good with claims and extremely friendly. We have our personal boat with ski safe.
  15. @Horton yeah I agree, but Smear is one of those things in slalom, once you understand it, it can make the world of difference, I remember the first time I did it, it was like WOAH what was that...
  16. @aussiemc If you get some gear from @Horton I'm about 5 lakes down from him he'll get you in touch with me, I'll give you a ride for sure. Always a good time in Bakersfield!
  17. Go to the boarding school, best set up with the best conditions...no matter what. Plus you get to ski with Brooks Wilson. Been there multiple times, top 5 favorite places to ski hands down.
  18. @dchristman The new inside out Radar gloves are top notch, I'm wearing them now, you get a way better feel for the handle and are extremely comfortable.
  19. Those ducks are pretty dang straight!! Definitely want to go to the Seattle one! Fun time! @Horton @richarddoane
  20. I can tell you my dad bought his 1983 SN in 1984, from a guy who won the boat off Jeopardy as a bonus prize. It sat in the guys yard for 5 months before my dad bought it, never had been In the water. Were now on our 5th Nautique.
  21. I got to try out my new 66" 2016 this weekend, ski is awesome!!! Definitely much faster, and I found my onside being more consistent, comes back into the first wake even better than the blue vapor! In scrappy situations I Felt like I had more control and knew right away what the ski was going to do! It's getting better and better with every set!! Thanks to @Chris Rossi and @Horton for the help this weekend!
  22. @Felix Bauer I used HO animals since I was a kid, and then about 2 and a half years ago I switched to a reflex in the front, and then last year I switched to a wiley in the back and absolutely loved it. Enjoyed having no laces, and liked the way it freed my ankle up a bit more.
  23. Thanks @jhughes yes the classic scheme is the best!
