  1. couldn't be happier with our 2014 200 love this boat! So many great scores behind it and many more to come!
  2. http://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/13667/all-new-2016-vapor @tony the link above is the other thread where you can find all those answers. Nothing but great things are coming from people on the 2016. Hope you like it.
  3. One of the most down to earth nicest guys I have ever met. Also one of my skiing idols growing up, when I finally got to meet him at Paradise Lakes at nationals in 06 demoing the Radar MPD I was so nervous I couldn't talk. Like many of you said he talked to everyone like an old friend as he did to me that day when I was 13. He will be greatly missed not only with his tremendous talent on the water but his awesome personality and love and passion of the sport off the water! He truly was the GOAT!
  4. When I decided that I wanted to ski open, I just started putting OM in the entry forms, BUT to qualify and actually get your open rating I think it was 5.5 at 38off you have to run twice, but it does vary into early 39 territory as well.
  5. The rumor I heard at Nationals, was either Chicago where nationals was in 2010, or Bell Acqua in Sacramento. The way the USA waterski employee said it...was leaning toward California, which is awesome, it needs to come back to CA already. been too many years at okeeheelee.
  6. Like @MattP said @MS , the time we spend in the water at the ends was very quick. I was 2nd seed, but the kid in front of me who knew the driver very well, definitely got more time; it seemed like forever when he sat at the ends. I did notice, the driver would just mumble something under his breath, and we would go. For the most part I looked at the boat judge who I knew, and he gave a nod so I was never caught off guard. I have learned over the years to be ready as soon as possible, the times they use on the timer vary so much now.
  7. Hahah yes very true, this is an exciting shape that I have heard nothing but good things about! I'm stoked to jump on it, It's gonna take people places! @MattP
  8. I'm stoked for this ski to come out, I have seen it in action and it is stellar. I had the chance to try one with @brooks but then ran a PB that day and decided to wait it out haha. definitely looking forward to getting on it soon! Its gonna be unreal.
  9. The MCs zero off system is great, it easy to use, fast and very easy to see. I have not used the LINC system a lot In the 200, we have one but it is all analog. Hands down the MC and prostar would be your best bet, I do know if you lose the LINC system in the 200 its about $3,000 to replace.
  10. @drewski32 I actually just got the email to notify me that I had received my open men rating a couple weeks ago, a very cool feeling. As @MattP said it fluctuates, but usually it is around 2 scores of 2 @ 39.5 off.
  11. Like @Wish said you cant just be messing up at 2 ball, its cause and effect...whatever it is you are doing its probably at the gate and the effect is being seen at 2 ball. The way it sounds is your getting a good one ball but falling back at 2, most likely your probably carrying too much speed into 1 and even though you feel your coming out good, your probably carrying more speed than the ski can handle. Make sure that when you turn in for your gate you're creating angle first THEN loading the rope. Not doing both at the same time. Also make sure your hips are under you so your ski is underneath you and you can be dynamic in the edge change. It is hard to tell without video, but maybe try this, I've heard this same kind of thing before.
  12. If you are curious about bindings, the way I do it on a new ski is you start with stock and you move it forward until the point of failure (where the tip starts to bite at the finish of the turn) then go back one hole from there. Also you can do the same going back, until you feel the ski wheelie a ton, but usually I just go forward and do that because you want to be forward on the ski anyway!
  13. Hey everyone, Brooks will be in Bakersfield, CA at Creekside Lake July 1st and 2nd which is a Wednesday & Thursday!! It is filling up fast, so get in touch with him to secure your spot! Anytime you get to ski with @Brooks is a real treat, I've gotten to hang out with him a bunch and he is one of the coolest and most knowledge guys in our sport!
  14. Good man! haha yes, it doesn't help that they are newer, little easier to find the 2014 Green one. Keep an eye out, someone will throw one up there or even on here.
  15. Going to talk to @brooks soon on getting a clinic down in Bakersfield soon guys, I'll keep BOS updated.
  16. @DefectiveDave I would definitely go with a 66' 2015 Blue Radar Vapor, I'm sure you can find one on skiitagain used. Best all around ski hands down. I can also help with bindings and fin settings!
  17. skiing year around, its a rope every 6 months, I only use Masterline the best by far.
  18. @TazyMike28 the blue vapor is an incredible ski, definitely consider it as your next ski! Like @Horton said the blue vapor is not the end of the vapor cycle they will continue to tweak it and make it even better every year! They won't change the shape unless they find something better! They had the strada for 4 years or so, so expect some timeline like that!
  19. As in the article that KC wrote that @Jibbo posted, I focus on my core especially. I do core exercises everyday, your abs can recover very quickly unlike other muscle groups in your body. I also do pull-ups and chin ups, as well as lunges and squats. I do stay away from the gym, I was never a fan of lifting weights, plus you'll save your hands for when you ski. ON days you do ski really hard or take a a lot of sets, stay away from weights and exercise, let your body recover. I remember reading an article that said 15min of waterskiing is equivlaent to a 45min workout!
  20. first off like I said, it only had happened once to us, of course we would of disclosed it if it happened all the time! I'm sorry I don't know what happened. That is a clean boat that you got a great deal on.
  21. Got mine too, such an awesome shirt!! super soft! Thanks @brooks
  22. I have a feeling this ski is going to be stellar!! Combination of great things!! @Horton
  23. Your best bet is uship, in October we had our 200 shipped form MI to CA. When you do get offers, be sure the person has multiple reviews and is legit. We had our boat shipped in 2 and a half days it was great!
  24. I used double HO animal bindings my whole life until 2 years ago, and I switched to a reflex front, and an animal in the back. Then at the end of 2014 I switched my rear to a wiley. Best change I ever did, you will find the ski extremely responsive, night and day difference. My buoy count jumped when I switched to a reflex, it take time to get used to, but keep on it. Good luck!
  25. No worries! Sounds awesome, have fun! Cheers to some skiing! @barefooter2baller‌
