  1. "The Daddy" looks cool, but I will just stick with well vented gravity.
  2. Had what seemed like a similar issue on a 6L ProStar last year, afterreplacing all the injectors cured the problem.
  3. great boat for course skiing excellent wake at all line lengths. the open bow front facing concept was popular for a few years in the early 2000s looks like they have the snaps to cover the bow for cool weather because there is an opening below the seat to the main part of the boat. looks in very nice shape.
  4. Skied a 95 response for many years nothing wrong with it at 34mph except the 22' Off pop -- I describe the Malibu wake as "firm" its different than others but not bad. Slower speeds do make the wake much larger and tougher. We added weight under the bow and a 4 blade acme and it helped.
  5. The problem appears that there are 2 lakes right next door seems to de-value it. IF it was the 1 and only lake.....
  6. Looks like a great site but a tough sell.
  7. Totally agree and just because "that's how we have always done it" isn't good enough anymore as we watch the sport continue to shrink........I think the key word used by @Horton but over-looked by many who take the sport a little too seriously is FUN. I really appreciate the comments we get following our tournaments and the more people say 'Fun" the better job I think we have done as a club.
  8. @MDB1056 I agree ----its a great tool and helpful to drivers to really fine tune their ability. Its also a nice convenience (even at C events) because it makes scoring easier. My point is people can get hung up on the numbers and loose sight of what is really important in a non record amateur tournament.
  9. The argument against it is that at a class C tournament it was used (because it was there) and some judges-skiers observed drivers within tolerance but outside what they believed acceptable for their skiing or level of quality. This is my only complaint it created a hyper-critical measure for what is supposed to be a fun amateur event.
  10. Hmmm to determine who is the best OVERALL skier ?? (I also stated that it needed to be marketed and IF more money could be offered for overall victories I believe there would be a lot more 2-3 event skiers) Would you say in the olympics there should be no decathlon or pentathalon because there are better individual competitors in the 10 or 5 events? I am old guy that recalls the days of multi event skiers being the Stars and faces of the sport--- and enjoyed it much more. I dont trick or jump but I appreciate the roots of our sport which is more than 6 balls and a lot of spray.
  11. I have to agree to disagree with @Horton while slalom skiing is definitely the profit center for most ski companies I believe that 3-Event competition is way more compelling. And it could be made into an excellent competition for viewing (again) if there was more money paid out to male and female overall winners than to 3 different specialists. Think of skiers like Joel Poland, Rob Hazelwood, Regina and Neily Ross ---- outstanding ambassadors and marketable. (not sure Neily jumps) Jared Llewellyn has the basis for this concept with the WWS International Tour.
  12. I just picked up a SlingShot vest model TeamV8. Popular with boarders its comfortable and long in the torso with one strap. Only have a few days using it but so for I really like it. The price from Wakehouse was excellent.
  13. Really Nice looking boat --- it appears that @teammalibu has defected!?
  14. Andre, just 2 club boats and 2 personal boats! But it looks like the CP is sold, darn gonna miss that little blue tug, great wakes and so much fun to drive.
  15. Great Boat we ski it alot super easy to put a tower on this.
  16. not sure the 654 will be enough difference the next step for more hole shot might be the 12.5 x 14.25 that came on a lot of the 5.7 200s they should be easy to find on SIA. Good Luck
  17. @Wish that O'Brien was my favorite vest ever, and not just because Andy wore one for years, I believe they called it "Body Armor" Sadly one spring I found the vest had shrunk more than ever before and it had to be retired / donated.
  18. Havent had to replace ours yet ... should be pretty easy @RichardDoane ?

    Masters

I do think interviews would be a good add for Masters Waterski especially on Saturday. Sunday is tight but still possible. Appreciate what @Jody_Seal posted about over-all stats. Having attended the Masters many many years ago (when they skied in July) it was more about the over-all title and I think we lost something when we began focusing on specialists$ I wish we could encourage and promote an event that awarded an overall prize that exceeded the financial payout for an individual event. The Masters is the best possibility for this to happen unless MC or Malibu would get Bold!
  20. @Ed_Johnsonthe CP is known for great slalom wakes ----- you must have driven a boat with a lot of rudder torque. The Centurion tracks with a good driver --most say it likes to swivel at the pylon--- but it doesn't follow a line quiet as well as a SN 200. Also have to agree with @bananaron the Centurion is no different than a SN196 or MC 190 which are no longer produced---- the boat has a PCM engine and "off the shelf" gauges and throttle. No screens or unique parts. And less Seadeck than it's SN cousins!

    Masters

Ya the Masters sucks there is no energy, the drivers are just top notch, viewing is only available from a white sandy beach or covered pavillion - start dock. There are only 2 large video-replay screens, just an adequate PA for the entire lake and absolutley no excitement. Only half a dozen activities for kids to do as well. Barely a dozen Sponsors on site with product, information and give-aways. IT's like most tournaments, -----I am sure the skiers will agree. 🙂 None of you should waste your time spectating or supporting the sport in Pine Mtn, GA.
  22. The term closed cooling is really incorrect. At least the PCMs are what might be called semi closed. Raw water still goes to a heat exchanger to cool the antifreeze that flows thru most critical parts. And Raw water is used to cool the manifolds. WIthout proper draining I can see how damage can definitely occur and if a freeze was hard enough to damage the heat echanger plumbing that could be very bad with water mixing with antifreeze.
  23. WHAT!! Isn't Charlie a Nautique skier!!?? AND he didnt make a Nautique Event????????????????? Is there no justice.
  24. In general terms this board is comprised of old guys with old thinking -- we want skiing to be the way it was when we were young. That is unlikely to happen for many reasons mentioned above and the obvious - the boat market has changed. But where I see potential for growth and a new era of comp skiers is thru Collegiate skiing. It needs to be supported and promoted, we need to continue to support the colleges with teams and encourage other schools to start ski clubs. Many of the skiers get the bug during college and then want to continue after college, I love their passion and still think there is a team element that could to be bought to AWSA.
  25. Great boat and well cared for by @RichardDoane . We have a similar one with 800 hrs on the east side of the country for sale. The 6L and ZO Rev S make it the perfect training-club boat. Yes @Horton had this one but for a very short time. 😉
