I agree with @jhughes I have a K2 soft bag and a Dakine soft bag that works flawlessly. The TSA always inspects my bags when I fly. I’ve heard many horrendous stories of the TSA doing a lousy job when trying to repack a SportTube, many times resulting in damaged gear. Use a soft sided bag with sufficient padding (towels, boardshorts, vests, etc.)
My Dakine bag easily fits 2 pair of 200 cm snow skis.
@H20ski17 The release read that if you had a dock on a public lake you could still go boating. The governor didn’t wasn’t people congregating on sandbars, islands, etc. launches will definitely be closed. I was very concerned when the news came out but it won’t affect me as I live on a Duke Power lake. Our launches will likely be closed though.
My 2016 Subaru Outback 2.5 is rated for 2,700 pound towing capacity. I would never tow anything with it. Seriously not worth the risk to life and limb. A great vehicle for it’s designed use, I routinely go through deep snow every winter and have never doubted its ability in Colorado where I spend my winters.
I am 73 years old. Same as you in my mid 40’s I needed reading glasses, distance vision was 20-20. Prior to my retirement I investigated getting cataract surgery and learned a great deal. My optometrist recommended the RESTOR lenses. This required me to place several different prescription eye drops in my eye for 30 days prior to the lens insertion. I had one eye done, then 45 days later the next.
What an incredible difference, I no longer needed any glasses for reading and my vision is excellent at all distances. The process is simple and Medicare covered the basic lenses, I upgraded to include the near vision correction and wound up paying less than $5k, it was worth every penny. It’s made an unbelievable difference in my daily life. I highly recommend the RESTOR lenses. My optometrist specializes in this surgery and I recommend that you seek a professional who also specializes in this type of surgery. No down side at all.
@Luzz Yes! It works perfectly now. This was an awesome interview as well. Manon is a great advocate for waterskiing. So sad that she was victimized asa child. This needs to stop.
I hit the gym pretty hard 3 x per week, also walk on the hills 3 miles per day, 6 days/week. Snow ski 25,000 vertical feet per day in the off season. It’s working for me.
@Horton You must have missed @Gloersen re ent notation that he successfully switched due to an injury. I agree that it would be better for her going 24 mph.
A very tragic event. I met Dave at the SMRR national tournament a couple of years ago. I spoke with him in Charleston and at Cory’s. A true stanchion of the water ski community. My condolences to Dawn and the family. He will be missed.
Apples to oranges. The triumph has a lot more support and is a slower ski. The vapor is mostly used by aggressive free skiers and course skiers, quite a bit faster ski. You’ll find it harder to accomplish a deep water start if you’re a bigger guy. Like going for a Chevy Impala to a Corvette.
Keystone, Vail, Breckinridge, Copper, Steamboat, Aspen, Snowmass from December 8 - March 1. Then Alta, Brighton and Deer Valley until a March 15. Back on the water by April 1.
