  1. You should organize your neighbors and start attending city council meetings. Our city was besieged by Short Term Rentals for a couple of years. A group of us started attending the meetings and made our voices heard, we recruited other subdivisions to join us and they did. Two years later the city enacted a ban on short term rentals, problem solved. It didn’t hurt that there are 3 city council members within 1/4 mile of my home.
  2. 82f Lake Keowee SC. Buddies wore shorty wet suits. Why???
  3. I have the same boat. I see no problem with your plan but I’d add some Sta Bil fuel treatment Prior to your last voyage. If the temperature gets below high twenties I’d accelerate the winterization schedule.
  4. Jeff Rodgers does pretty good using Wileys.
  5. @Matteo_Vargas. Dave 2 ball is an EMT so I feel he has seen more than his share of BUIs gone bad.
  6. The stainless steel mesh works around here until the critters keep chewing at it. Nothing is foolproof. We have a lot of boats on Hydrohoist lifts that muskrats like to chew on. Also I/O boats with their bellows are frequent targets of the muskrats. So far no problems on this lake but when I was on Lake Lanier in GA the muskrats were a constant issue. The stainless steel braid cable covers are pricy.
  7. A trail camera could help identify exactly what times they’re coming around. A .22 rifle would put an end to it.
  8. We use stainless steel braided hoses in the foothills of SC because the muskrats love to chew on rubber hoses.
  9. Tracks like a limp noodle!
  10. The Profile binding fits as its sized, I wear a 9 shoe and the size 9 binding fits perfectly. It will fit on your Connelly fine as a front binding, not sure about rear binding fit. I recommend a rear toe plate.
  11. The Radar Profile is a great binding. I always release .when necessary. I keep the bottom lace tight and the top on snug, not tight. Never a problem .and the binding provides excellent support.
  12. I live on a 18,000 acre reservoir, many islands are scattered here and there. Recently the power company who owns the lake began laying rip rap on the islands to preserve them from being eroded. This will not of course help homeowners on the big water where their docks are subjected to extreme pounding from passing surf/wakeboats. We’re about 1.5-2 hours from Atlanta so the weekends are very dangerous. I believe the local dealers are doing their best to educate new boaters but it isn’t working very well. I have 2 new surf boats in my cove and they come by my dock at well above no wake speed. If I’m on the dock they take it easy but “out of sight, out of mind”. Several months ago the big Supra broke 2 mooring lines for my pontoon boat. My Nautique is on a lift so no problem with it. The Supra guys wife said “he’s never had a boat before”. I assumed as much. He wants to get a dredging permit so that he can have water depth for a lift but I don’t think his neighbors will sign off on that. One neighbor is on city council and takes a dim view of his abuse of his neighbors on the lake.
  13. I just got into Charleston and the weather is fine. A few sprinkles coming down from upstate SC but no heavy rain. Plenty of shelter under the trees at Trophy Lakes.
  14. Run the fan for 2 minutes before starting. I’ve seen an explosion at the ramp twice. Pretty powerful.
  15. Looking great. Good luck with the testing, I’m sure it’ll be fine.
