    I had ReStore lenses implanted into my eyes. That gave me 20-20 vision across the board! No more reading glasses. This is a very safe procedure that takes 15 minutes per eye. Procedure was 5 years ago and no downside.

    I was writing about drinking water as I have had a well tested previously by the county health department in GA.

    County health department can test water samples.

    Synthetic transmission fluid is not recommended by PCM because it is simply too slippery to allow the clutches in the transmission to engage correctly. Any name brand fluid is ok to use, stay away from synthetics. I only change at 100 hours.

    Yes I have lubricated the throttle cable at both ends using white lithium grease. It comes in a spray can and can be found at most auto parts stores. You will need to take the handle off by removing the Allen screw, then remove the plate. It's not very hard to do.

    I also have a 2004 196 LE. The capacity is 2 quarts. Dextron 4 or equivalent is fine. You should warm up the boat then check transmission level. Do not overfill (most important). I drain old fluid out using a drill pump into an empty 64 ounce gator aid bottle. Easy job, it takes 15 minutes total. I leave theengine running to check transmission level.

    @ToddL so sorry for the inadvertent disagree. A clumsy move on an iPad, I never noticed it. I may never get close to 32 off.

    @Glock I use Sea Foam twice per year and have never experienced any fuel issues. Also only use 90 octane non ethanol fuel.

    I bought a Carver custom fit Sunbrella cover for my 2004 SN 196 five years ago. Boat is under a covered dock and on a lift. Cover fits perfectly and keeps the interior clean. Mildew is not a problem.mit appears to be well constructed, the Sunbrella fabric is breathable. I think I paid $450 on end of season sale. Best of luck in your search.

    My K2 5500's tips delaminates after many years maybe 10? Excellent skis for the whole mountain.

    @jetpilotg4 I have the same boat and I use a drill pump from Overtons. I think harbor freight has them as well. Only takes 2-3 minutes to remove the 2 quarts of fluid. Make sure not to overfill when replenishing. Have used the same pump for 20 years now, no problems.

    I bought the Camaro Blacktec on sale last year for $60. It keeps me incredibly warm. Will likely never wear a dry suit or wet suit again. Just go with a heater top Camaro and board shorts down to 60 degrees. Colder than that and I'll be alpine skiing. Aside from being easy to tear there is no downside.
