  1. It's fun to think about what was in 10 years ago vs. today! 2. @o2bnMaine Nice! Yeah, electric vehicles are not good for towing long distances. I once figured out how many times I'd have to charge the new F150 electric truck to take my boat to a ski lake about 225 miles away (which I do four times a year), up and over a mountain pass on I-90, and I'd have to charge it two times on the road.
  3. @MichaelWiebe You need a power inverter. They are pretty inexpensive and once you have one you'll find new uses for it.
  4. I also do what @Horton and others here have done. Harbor Freight for the brass part and then immediately throw away the crappy HF hose. Go to a local Ace Hardware and get a clear PVC hose that once warmed is easy to put on the jiggler. I got enough hose to make two of them and gave one away to a friend. The hose I got is very stiff in the PNW weather for 80% of the year, but it works great. The guy at Ace complained a bit that the hose was not "fuel rated", but the fuel is only in there for a fraction of a second. This is how 95% of the gas I buy gets into my boat as it sits on the lake all year.
  5. Anything from the lists above would be a huge upgrade for you. Where do you live? Who do you ski with? I bet there are some ways that you could demo some options and see what skis speak to you.If that is not an option and you buy a Senate - get a Lithium or Pro Build.
  6. @Horton Does a Radar Vapor boot happen to fit into that toe cup?
  7. That lake near St. Ignatius was in the market last spring. Did any ballers buy it, or anyone in the area know the status of the property? It is really, really remote. I think Rosewater is humming along nicely. More of the lots are growing houses in them every year. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/304-Rosewater-Loop-Kalispell-MT-59901/2061267250_zpid/?utm_campaign=iosappmessage&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=txtshare
  8. I had to put the ski away for the season as winter has arrived with daily below-freezing temps here in the PNW. Any other Connelly DV8 skiers here - could you tell me what bindings you use? I was only able to ski the new stick two times, but I still find putting my Radar Sequence Plate ALL the way aft to be very odd, but that's what all my measurements indicated was correct? I'm thinking I'd like to try a different binding setup in the spring.
  9. Had a very brief fog-shortened open water ski on my DV8 this morning and I like it! I was skiing a bit tentative just feeling things out, but I can totally feel what @Horton said in his review that the strong side lean grows from the turn to the wake. Hope to get a few longer sets on it this week and explore the ski a bit more.
  10. I’d be curious to hear how other DV8 skiers here have set up their skis. I put the fin and bindings at stock. The stock location of the boots is WAY further back than on my current ski. I’m curious how that’s going to work. The new ski is a 68” DV8. Current ski is a 69” Radar Senate Lithium. I put my Radar Vapors on a Sequence plate on the DV8.
  11. @brody I wonder how many got it right? That would be interesting to know.
  12. I'm a little excited and had to share with BoS- I won the audience participation prize for the Women's Slalom event for the Malibu Open! I want to thank the awesome team at The Waterski Broadcasting Company for brining us all the amazing coverage of these pro events! I want to thank Connelly for this amazing DV8! I can't wait to give it a ski. Oh, and thanks to Regina, Whitney and Jaimee for some exciting competition and for aligning on the podium in the right way. I think I even chose the 1@41 winning score. I was going to wear my TWBC tee shirt for this photo, but not on the day my Mariners end their 21 year playoffs drought. GO MARINERS!
  13. @swbca How firm is the bottom your lake? Ours is a few feet of mud-muck-grossness. I don’t think laying our course on the bottom is even feasible? I’m curious about your very rigid configuration idea. Some of us want to go to the city and see if we can come up with a solution. It has been unbelievably frustrating few years with our course. Kevin
  14. I’m in a club that has tried to maintain a sinkable course on a very busy lake and this year we gave up. We have repaired the cut cable mainline and air hoses and bags more times than I can count now. Over the last five summers we have spent 100s of hours trying to fix the course and then skied it only a couple of times a summer - usually because it is damaged again. We are trying to come up with a better solution, but doubt leaving a course up permanently would be a good solution for the reasons noted above. Our current thinking is to put permanent anchors on each end of the course and put in an insta-slalom course the mornings we want to ski. If anyone here has better ideas we are all ears.
  15. I think 654 and 422 are the choices you have. If you have one and don’t like it try the other. I have a 2016 OB with the H5 propped with the 654 and love it.
  16. Why is it in the “show ski” category? I didn’t even know that was a thing.
  17. I got my blue bomb a week ago and I LOVE it! The grip is awesome.
  18. SN is WAY out in front in your list. Don't get a tower, they just get in the way and are not needed for 99% of those doing anything behind a boat.
  19. @S1Pitts ... finDB is the app. I still have it and it works, but I noticed that the database of stock fin settings for Radar only went to 2019. Not sure if there is a way to update that or if there are plans to provide updated settings going forward. I logged in and found my skis and setups still in there.
  20. I’ll second the note above: try ski-it-again or only inboards. Way more visibility in front of people looking to buy a ski boat.
  21. That was so awesome! I am so glad that I went and watched this event today. If you get a chance, go to one of these events!!! These skiers are AMAZING!
  22. If only the Prostar had good wakes at 22… not! 22 off is a poor spot on every ski boat I’ve ever skied behind. Did a lot of sets at 22 on my 200 last weekend and there is a bump if I am not skiing like I should.
