  1. Radar quality and customer support is top-notch all around.
  2. Brenda is so friendly and awesome to work with. She does this on her own in her way. It is so fun to talk with her on the phone and her handles are simply awesome. I just ordered my fourth handle from her, a blue bomb, and I can't wait to try it out.
  3. Wow!!! I'll be there. We should have a BOS meet up or something...
  4. Do it. That ski is perfect for a skier like you. Keep on working at it!
  5. @foxriverat I have not yet had fall where I would need to release with the new Vapors, but with the bungee upper and the same liner I would expect them to release in a similar fashion to the previous boots. When done skiing and kicking my ski off in the water it takes effort to keep the liners in the boots - the liners want to come out. But yet somehow when skiing I feel locked and and in control. It’s like magic! ?
  6. At the Herb's Cup event last week it was mentioned that the 2023 Vapor was dropping today. It looks like they are carrying over the shape and everything from the big redesign last year but there are some new graphics. I saw the blue top / white base in person and it is BEAUTIFUL. Definitely drool-worthy. https://radarskis.com/2023vapor And - Herb's Cup is a BLAST!!!! What a cool and fun format for a ski tournament, all held at the historic and legendary Radar Lake. Thank you to everyone at Radar for putting on a great event!
  7. Have you ever considered trying out a Senate? I've skied a 69" Senate and a 69.5" Vapor. The Senate is definitely lighter on the water and carries speed out to the ball easier. And I'm about your weight.
  8. FINALLY used my Off Course today. It's been a bit of a crazy summer. The water was pretty rough on our lake and I almost didn't try it, but I'm SO GLAD that I did. You really can see the splashes and the urgency to turn and go is really there. It is a LOT more like skiing a slalom course than I thought it would be. We struggled with the width of the shots a bit, but think we will figure it out. The product quality is top-notch and most of all, it is really fun! I'm curious to know how long we should expect a CO2 canister to last. We had three skiers each take a set or two (I did three) and we did not have to recharge the canisters. When I took them off there was definitely still pressure in them. How many shots do they generally have in each canister?
  9. Shameless plug for a little fun practice/exhibition style tournament happening in a little over a week in Lake Stevens, WA: It would be fun to meet some ballers! Note that the focus here here fun and showing the community how great water skiing can be. This is in open water on a public lake, so it can be challenging. :) -Kevin Well.... it is FINALLY here.... the annual Lake Stevens Water Ski Club tournament!!! The waterski tournament is ready to start at 7:00AM on Saturday, July 30th. It is at the "City Beach" in the cove close to the "old downtown" area. Look for a bunch of skiers all hanging out at the beach - it will be easy to find us! Our tournament is a family-friendly, welcoming, and fun event. We want EVERYONE to come ski, compete and enjoy a great morning on the water. We have a class for all types of skiers and this year we are amping up the fun to 10! For ski club members, your $10 registration fee guarantees you four passes through the course or two falls. You'll get a minimum of four passes through the course behind a competition ski boat all for just $10!! The same deal is available to non-members for just $20. And if you do well you'll get prizes to take home and brag to all your friends. Registration will begin at 6:30 am, with skiing to start by 7:00. We'll start with the "Open Class" - it is SO fun to watch these marvelous skiers compete! Then Expert, then Class I, Class II, Class III, Mens/Women, Novice, and ending with the Children's (12 and under) event. We will have volunteers at the event to help get you registered in the right group. I wish I could tell you what time each category would be starting, but it is dependent on how many competitors we have in each class. Show up, hang out, and cheer on all your friends in the club! This year for insurance purposes we are running a sanctioned event under USA Water Ski and Wake Sports. To ski in the tournament you need to be a current member of USAWSWS at least a Grassroots level. If you are not a current member you can sign up for our event for just $10 here: https://ems.usawaterski.org/lake-stevens-water-ski-club---practice-exhibition-2022 If you have any questions about this please reach out. It would REALLY help if everyone could take care of this before the tournament. We will have a computer there for people to sign up at the event, but that could slow things down. This is going to be a very fun community day right in the middle of the annual Lake Stevens Aquafest. We have police helping us keep boats out of the cove, the boat launch will be closed and we always have lots of spectators. Let's show the entire city our community spirit and pride in our home town by putting on the best ski tournament we can! See you at the tournament!!!
  10. Rossi has mentioned that exact video of Freddie multiple times during this season of Spraymakers. It would be great if Rossi or Trent could develop this concept a bit more. They often do a session later in the season where they take questions or comments from Ball of Spray. In what was probably my 15 minutes of fame moment they read one of my questions a season to two ago.
  11. @C5Quest It is part of the whole episode but let me see if I can walk though what I am doing and how it helps (I think). It obviously works from the turn to the centerline. Body square, arms straight, position stacked. I think the change for me was then keeping open to the boat while keeping that leading arm straight and low. I'm keeping both hands on the handle longer and then moving to the "reach" with more purpose and doing so a lot later. The result is casting wide on a better line. I have a tendency to let go of the handle too fast past the second wake by raising it too high. The "Point my chest at the pylon" thought helped keep both hands low, speed up, and the turns quick. This is a photo at the end of a run last week, on my offside, and for me this is a position I have been trying to progress to for quite some time. So, it worked for me? Am I explaining it well at all? I'm not Rossi or Trent by a LONG ways.
  12. For those who have used these how do they fit? Do they run large or small?
  13. Wait, what are these extra brackets? I'm very curious about this for my OB Nautique 200. I have a new, 2022 model, OffCourse.
  14. Congratulations on the move. It’s a huge undertaking.
  15. I was sitting on an airplane a couple of weeks ago and listened to this episode. One thing Rossi and Trent said hit me so hard I wrote it down. “When both of your hands are on the handle your chest should be pointed at the pylon.” I’ve never heard anything like that before. The next day I was back out on the water and… holy cow. What a difference it has made for me. I’m not really sure why that thought hit me so hard or why it has made such a difference for me, but even while just free skiing my ski buddies all say they can see a difference in how I am skiing. Thanks to Radar, and Rossi and Trent!!! Love Spraymakers! Please keep it up!
  16. @kirkbauer We are all friends here and happy to share our knowledge or advice. Here's my two cents: The advice to listen to SprayMakers is solid because the main reason you are getting slack is that you are not generating speed from your turn and into the middle of the wakes. What I see you doing is turning, not generating much speed, standing up to absorb the wakes, and then pulling again once you are past the wakes. That "second pull" past the wakes is what is causing that slack. I would suggest that you pull out a LOT wider at the start (roughly twice as far as you pull out now) and think about building speed so that you are still accelerating through that first wake. Then, past the second wake change edges and get wide for that next turn and then do it again. Also - you should put this on GiveGo and get some pro advice! Then you can post it here and you might win a GoPro. :)
  17. I have dual Vapors on a carbon sequence place on my 69" Senate and I put them right at the 0 mark on the plate. I believe that is "right at the middle" so-to-speak. I've loved this setup from day 1 and just now realize I have never moved them to try anything else. I have a Whisper Fin Pro on the ski as well, all set at the recommended settings for my ski.
  18. OK... Been some time since I got my OffCourse but am finally going to give it a first run this week. For those who have done this for the first time - any tips before I go out? How long should I give myself to get it set up? How close will it be to the right width out of the box? Or is that impossible to say? I'm putting it on a 2016 SN 200 Open Bow. I assume on a Nautique that I have to plug it into the 12V port in the glove box, so do I have to worry about the lid pinching the wire?
  19. I’d never put a beginner on hard shells. A newbie is all over the place and doesn’t need to be locked in. JMHO.
  20. Satisfied S-Lines customer here - and I have a few friends who have purchased them after I gave it rave reviews. Here's a thread you can review: /forum#/discussion/26553/s-lines
  21. That looks like the right fluid. I recall you can't use synthetic, but plain-old ATF. While that looks like the right stuff it sure is suspicious that right after a change this starts happening. You are sure you didn't accidentally get synthetic or something like that?
  22. Ah, OK. Perhaps then I should just buy it from my dealer or from NautiqueParts.com. Thanks!
  23. @jpwhit Thank you! Is the correct part number listed on the device? I sure don't mind saving some money by just buying direct. I found the device yesterday and it is located behind my drain plug, which is a pretty difficult spot to reach as it is underneath the engine.
