  1. An order for Zero off on a 2014 ski boat? Doesn't the boat come with zero off? Someone please enlighten me.
  2. I've tried contacting Masterline through their website but haven't heard back. I'm wondering, hoping, Masterline will make a slide loop mainline similar to their mostly "white" 8 loop mainlines. The slide loop ropes look cool, but most of them are black. Hard to see the black ropes sometimes depending on weather conditions. Any reps here that can provide more info? Thanks!
  3. My buddy has this boat with the temp issue, and has to rev it in neutral sometimes. (Not often though) Hopefully someone can post the fix. I will search on the malibucrew site and see if anything comes up. Wicked boat.
  4. @Horton did a fantastic video of the course at slower speeds. Watch his video, and focus on his body position at all points from each ball and through the wakes.
  5. Wow, so close to getting that 1.25 score.
  6. Just curious, but any chance this Spring Mountain property is on reserve land?
  7. Can you even buy a new boat these days with a teak platform? I think it adds a nice luxury touch to the boat. I've always used oil and a bit of sand paper to keep it clean. Never slippery. I've heard of guys using pressure washers to clean them, but you are likely to cause damage. So I would avoid that method.
  8. Thanks @TallSkinnyGuy. Good to know. I was hesitant to pay $150 US for the upgrade, (i'm at 8.005) but that price seams way more reasonable. Notice any differences so far?
  9. Interesting thread. Here's my history... I ski LFF. I prefer to bat left. I play golf right, but putt left. (I probably should be a left handed golfer, but learned as a kid to play right handed golf) [1] I play hockey left handed. I prefer to ice skate and cut to the left more comfortably than to the right. I skate board with my right foot on the board, and my left leg pushes. (RFF on a skate board) I'm left eyed. I'm right handed. I prefer to ski LFF with left palm up. (I know, so weird) I do a running long jump and plant my left foot to leap from. I prefer to kick a soccer ball with my right. (I suck at kicking with my left) I trick LFF. I hate wakeboarding. When barefooting, I feel more comfortable letting go with my left hand, holding the handle with my right hand. [1] I want to elaborate on the golf swing. I grew up with my Dad teaching me golf. We always had right handed clubs of course. So after many years, I feel comfortable hitting a golf ball right handed. But, I feel if I grew up hitting golf balls as a kid left handed, I would it hit 30 yards further. At the end of the day, let the skier pick. I don't care that the current top skiers in the world are RFF, advantage or disadvantage doesn't matter... they are comfortable being RFF.
  10. I clicked on the banner link. Very cool boat. Interesting design by Mastercraft with the dash. Basically no dash.
  11. Not stainless. :( I'm in "fix rust" mode right now as have no intention in selling anytime soon. The rust isn't overly bad, but needs work.
  12. Thanks @Fam-man, Luckily most of the fittings are stainless, but there are some rust spots that we are fixing up, and treating with rust paint.
  13. @Wayne, no screws. Just the plastic black rub rail. And we don't load/unload very often, but I'm in the process of replacing all the bunks and steps with new treated wood and carpet. Just thought a Malibu guide post would finish it off nicely. We see so many other trailers with nice ones, and mine were always plain.
  14. @oldjeep Thanks. I guess the dealer just cheaped out. Nothing but a black pvc pipe with a cap. @gregy, hmmm tempting. Just bought my first Radar ski this year. :)
  15. I'm looking at replacing my trailer boat guide covers. The trailer has 1-7/8" metal pipe, and currently have a plain black 36" long 2" diameter pvc pipe. Kinda boring. I'm looking at these from Malibu gear. Long Link Anyone have these? Are they just covers, or do they come with an insert of some kind? Thanks!
  16. Turn hot off, any water at all? I'm guessing your cold line is clogged. First check your knob assembly. There are usually screens in the (cold and hot) hoses that connect to it. Or there are screens at the knobs themselves. If that area is clear, look into the cold intake via the engine box or leaks at the water pump.
  17. FWIW, I think one of the most important parts of driving that is underestimated is the seat position. To me, drivers need to be comfortable in a confidant position that allows them to have control of the wheel and throttle. So often the driver just jumps in and gets ready to pull the next skier. Adjust the seat, that works best for the driver. I personally, when driving like the seat close so my feet are planted and I have control of the cockpit.
  18. Double check your servo is working properly... do the linkage test here. Also, double check your crew weight and skier weight settings are set properly. One time I was doing a "no skier timing" check just to test for course times, and then forgot to set a skier weight when pulling a skier. It was all over the place until we set the skier weight to N. (normal) You have the latest version 9 stargazer?
  19. I ended up buying a Radar Vapor Graphite from Shuswap. Great service! The goto place if you are in Western Canada. If I was in the US, I would definitely reach out to perfski.
  20. Anymore experiences with version 9? I'm currently on 8.005 and have no issues, but have a buddy with a similar boat and only the wakeboard edition. Thought we could double up on the upgrade. Besides a better engagement into the course, are there any other enhancements, or improvements to the user interface that you like?
  21. The camera can stay in the boat, but the sensor should be on the skier. Not sure if that's possible.
  22. That is pretty cool. It would be neat see how accurate it is to show how a skier accelerates and decelerates and what angle they get wake crossing. Neat technology.
  23. Both are great tow boats with relatively low hours. It's gonna come down to your choice of color, dash, etc.
  24. Good post. I begin to wonder how different skiers hold the handle? Do you grip it in your palm? or do you grip it at the bottom of your fingers? I have a fairly thick handle and have always held the handle in my palm. The more I ski, the more callus I get, and the more chance I have for ripping my hand up. (That is the worst...to damage your hand and be out of commission for a week) Last year, I tried holding the handle more in my fingers and less in the palm and it seemed to help with less damage to my hands, but I wonder if I should have a skinnier handle or not?
