  1. Agree @skiboyny , I emailed PP with all the info. Hoping to hear back from them early in the week1
  2. It comes into the 55's a little warm but settles down nicely. However, my wife is a new driver and tends to idle a little long to get the boat lined up so hard to tell. Those are the exact numbers from the screen so I think adjustments are needed to work on balls 3 and 4 (or maybe adjustments are needed at 2 and 3??). Unfortunately its all new to me so I really don't know which way to go. Unfortunately I was skiing and didn't notice it too much. It just seems like the times could be closer. Was it @GregHind that had really good input on the other thread? I might email times to PP and see what they have to say as well.
  3. Ran a no-skier pass and times were within .01 Today's times with tach inverted, 26.7mph: 2.24 (-.02) 5.69 - exact 9.0 (-.13) 12.44 (-.12) 15.97 (-.02) 19.48 (+.06) Total Course Time 21.69 (+.01)
  4. I just upgraded to version 9.12. The pull Is much better but still not ZO smooth. I've got a '96 Malibu Echelon with the Indmar 320. These times are from before I inverted the tach (which I did just this morning). Any suggestions on background settings to adjust and how much. Skiing here in a little while so can provide more times later. 26.7 mph Ball 1 - 2.24 (-.02) Ball 2 - 5.64 (-05) Ball 3 - 8.99 (-.14) Ball 4 - 12.44 (-.12) Ball 5 - 15.96 (-.03) Ball 6 - 19.45 (+.03) Total Course Time 21.71 (+.03)
  5. @Justin_C , inverting tach or adjusting baselines?
  6. Prescription sunglasses, Ray Ban Sunglasses, wife's wetsuit. That's plenty for now but I'm sure there is more to come!
  7. Let's go back even further. I got a great deal on a 1996 Malibu Echelon with PerfectPass speed control which I upgraded to the latest software. It's got the Indmar 320 motor, about 1150 or so hours and pulls me outta the water at 210 lbs like nobody's business. The wake is pretty much not noticeable, even at 26.7 MPH. I didn't think I would buy something this old but I'm VERY HAPPY with my purchase. There's now money to spare for a recreationally themed pontoon to use after the morning slalom sessions.
  8. @alex38 , I did the same thing about a week ago (same versions but without Z-box). HUGE difference! No surging up and down hunting like it used to. I forgot to do the course run set to "no skier" but will do that next time out. I felt some small speed variance in the course so may have to adjust the background settings. GREAT UPGRADE if you are looking for more consistency for PP!
  9. Got it out yesterday, did autocal then skied a set. Much better than the earlier version with not near as much variance on speed. Is it still possible on Version 9.12 to see ball times by pressing the "down arrow" button after the pass? May have to adjust the timing a bit but want to make sure I do the timing without a skier first. I forgot this step yesterday.
  10. Maybe you could just complete your turn in, let go of the handle about the 1st wake then glide through 1. Oh, I'm not trying it, just an idea!
  11. Hmm, definitely something to think about there. I may just bite the bullet and do that. Then I'd know it was all as it should be. Thanks for the insight.
  12. Talked w Skidim and unfortunately the "rebuild kit" is not something that is manufactured any longer. I might have to buy the entire Rudder port for $320. Going to pull the rudder maybe tonight and see what the insides look like. Maybe just going through it and cleaning it up will make a noticeable difference. Let me know if anyone has other ideas. I appreciate it.
  13. I just checked and there is absolutely no play in the rudder at all. It's not loose etc. Just very difficult to move at all.
  14. @BraceMaker , should I drop the rudder and check as you suggest? Not much of a gearhead but learning more as the years go on. Thanks
  15. With the exception of the tiny bit of water that comes in through the shaft packing seal, the boat is BONE DRY. SkiDim has been extremely helpful so I'm sure they can talk me through it. But hey, If anyone else wants to chime in, feel free to do so. Always wanting to learn!
  16. I greased it through the zerk up top even before I removed the cable connection to it. I guess my next step is to unbolt it and see what's up. Is there any kind of bearing or anything in there that's special or just lube?
  17. I thought the steering cable was shot so I ordered another one. I got the old one disconnected and it looks like the rudder is the real problem. I can barely turn it by hand without the steering cable attached. What's the fix? I see 4 large, slot head screws on the bottom of it. Is this a remove, replace insides, replace thing?? What do I need? Thanks
  18. Thanks @Killer ! Just needed a little reassurance. I appreiate the help
  19. I just bought a new PP master module with the newest Version 9 software. My old master module had the version 7 software in it. The old Master Module had an input slot for the Timer. The new master module does not. Is this anything to worry about? Should I just let the old timer wire "hang free" under the bow? Thanks
  20. Interesting pic. Thought the Omni might be a bit wider. Looking forward to hearing what you think.
  21. A few weeks ago my wife and I rented a cabin from some folks we know. Lo and behold I walked through the door and saw this. Hope it brings back some good memories for someone! Including one of the wife enjoying the sunset from the closed bow Echelon
  22. Insightful thread as I just ordered a new master module and software. @GregHind, I'm guessing it will come with a setup guide that will walk me through the steps? The wife is doing a good job of driving but gets frustrated when Version 7 PP acts up! (1996 Malibu Echelon, Monsoon 320). Wanting to keep my driver so may be asking more questions!
  23. Still waiting for @Horton to put that Jobe into action!
  24. A bit nervous about the whole process. Hell, I'd rather buy a boat without issues for a bit more $ as the wife doesn't always understand the process. @Andre , I rebuilt a couple of jetski motors but I don't feel I'm up to this task. So, I'll be having it done. I would be getting references or sending to @Jody_Seal for the install. If I do this, it has to be done right. Hell, she's onboard with the direct drive. I don't wanna screw that up, right?
  25. I bought a '96 Malibu Echelon. My wife was not real happy with the color scheme and is wavering on the Perfect Pass at this point. However, she loves that the boat pulls me up without any issue and will admit that she is very happy that I bought a direct drive. AND, just to mention, she in VERY INTENT on becoming an excellent course driver as she knows this is important to me (even though at this point....I SUCK!) She is actually OK with upgrading to something newer as it's less mechanical issues and will have ZO. So, I see this on SIA: BOAT Obviously the price "seems" good but what would be the actual engine replacement cost/labor etc? Basically I'm wanting a newer boat without having to screw with the speed control system which is the version 7 of PP and has been a PITA. Thanks
