  1. I've never ridden a "crossover" but I think that would fit the bill nicely. Hardtail frame, straight handlebars and a thinner tire than a mountain bike. Surely you've got a few really good shops around you where you could go check them out, test ride etc. I didn't check on Trek's but here is a specialized example Specialized
  2. @ScottScott why the disagree with my "Specialized" recommendation? Look like lots of others agree??
  3. Mountain bike? Specialized has been a good brand for quite a while. Not sure if you have some specific style in mind but that might help the conversation.
  4. @Shell , how fast do you usually ski? I bought my wife a Lyric and can't wait to get her on the water and see her progress
  5. Still available? How many hours is a well taken care of motor good for usually? How's the interior (seats mostly) for the age? Wow, this could really cost me and force me to buy a pontoon for the wife!
  6. Do you want to use a wakeboard and Pro Model Vapor for the same thing? OF COURSE NOT! Buy a Weber for the easy propane grilling. I've owned a half dozen gas grills and for a reasonable price, Weber is the way to go. Then, go with either an electric or propane Masterbuilt cabinet smoker for the rest. My smokers are wood or charcoal fired but you can turn out a really good product with a masterbuilt or similar. Easy too! Good luck with your search.
  7. I didn't keep count. Skied all buoys, no free skiing. I'd like to change that next year. As others have said, NOT ENOUGH
  8. We had a cool week in Oklahoma a couple of weeks ago. Summer has returned through this weekend but I do have to admit that the beginning of the end is definitely in sight!
  9. Saw pics from Ski Texas. Not a pretty sight! Keep all them in your thoughts and prayers.
  10. Why 2 pylons? One just fore of the engine compartment and one in the middle of the boat. Would slalom position be the center one?
  11. If you're looking for something more frugal I've got a 68 inch 2016 Radar Alloy Vapor for $400, Blank only
  12. Gradually work your speed up as you become comfortable. No reason you "HAVE" to go faster. Ski a few passes at your comfortable speed then maybe try 1-2 mph faster.
  13. I skied on my 2014 TX Thursday night for the 1st time. I weighed 222 that morning and was able to slow the boat down to 24 and had a tiny bit of resistance. At 26mph it stayed on top of the water with no problem.
  14. Bubble wrap on tip and fin then cut and fit boxes with LOTS of tape to secure. I swore I'd never be without a ski shipping box but threw it out when we moved. THIS IS BAD! I'm pretty sure I won't be without one again!
  15. LOVE reading this! Glad to see you back on ONE!
  16. Should let someone like me (3@15 off, 26 mph) ski one and see how it performs on this end...68 or 69 inch please! Will return in perfect condition...if I return it! Hmm, is it the magic unicorn???
  17. Skied on for one season. Getting wider, longer ski so I can slow it WAY DOWN! $800 retail, selling for $400 16 Alloy Vapor
  18. I'm pretty sure @Horton wears a helmet for protection everyday. So, mounting the GoPro to it shouldn't be a problem...
  19. looks like his legs just broke in half! WTH? I didn't see any reason for that one!
  20. I just shipped a Graphite Senate up there...$90! Yes, you all need a site where you don't get "hammered" on shipping/importing! Still hoping the buyer (as agreed) pays the additional shipping!
  21. I'm pretty sure ZO is just a few miles from my house. Looks like the wise decision will be to make a short road trip if I (or you) need something. Let me know
  22. Let's hope so! I'd be content w a full pass to start off with!
  23. I'm looking forward to getting my TX. Should allow me to slow down a bit more but also have a little more stability. Thanks @svxwilson
  24. Once I get the swing of things and speed up a little, I'll likely go to a graphite or Lithium senate. I never plan on Skiing over 34mph and will likely never need more ski than the Senate. However, that will be a while so no telling what skis will be out there by then!
