  1. I'm thinking of making the same change but will likely be from my '16 Alloy Vapor to a Graphite Senate but maybe a Lithium. I need the extra stabilization...and to lose 15 lbs!
  2. Just watched a video of Seth coaching and talking about coming into the turn stacked and then leading with the hip and how that should shoot the ski out there. It all makes sense on dry land. I'm heading out tonight so putting together in my brain now what I plan to take to the water. Right now I think it is "Trust the lean on the offside".
  3. I tried the "wife method" with the last boat. Backup camera would be a much better choice! Let us know what you ended up with and how well it works.
  4. Thanks @ToddL . I will do that. The most difficult thing right now is developing the "comfortable feeling" while waiting on the boat to pick me up on my offside. It doesn't phase me on my onside but my nerves aren't quite there yet on the offside. This is going to be my prevailing thought next time on the water. I really feel once I get the feel of waiting on the boat and experience it a few times that I'll be on my way. Any other pointers are appreciated. I end up many times maybe a foot inside of 2 so I'm not SUPER far away. It's just developing the confidence right now...I think!
  5. Glad to see I'm in the same boat. I'm doing a little better completing the turn buy I keep falling into the trap of starting my lean, not trusting it and standing up and losing angle. I guess it's just a matter of continuing to work on it. Hopefully back on the water tonight.
  6. My life in one phrase...!
  7. Ski partner told me last night that he thought I was close to running the course if I'd actually turn going around 1 (1,3,5). He said I'm basically skiing around it now and ending up WAY down course. Well, something else to work on
  8. Having the same problems mentioned above. Similar to what I've been told, just in a little different way. Time to hit the water
  9. Thank you @RazorRoss3 , I was wanting to but figured one of you all that if tighter with him would chime in soon enough!
  10. Had an OTF one of my first few passes. Somehow I entered the water really softly and it kinda felt like slow motion as I was going through it. I didn't "try again" for fear of hurting myself!
  11. Wind has been bad but our lake is mostly OK with that. However, the damn rain just seems never ending and the temps haven't been all that great either. Looks like it MIGHT be improving in the coming week but my hopes aren't the highest!
  12. What years were the "death star"?
  13. Views were at 665 plus one and that's not OK. Just sayin'!
  14. Here is a gel coat kit from Amazon. I used it on my old boat and it is actually quite easy to use. Sand is down, buff it out, good as new. I was scared at first but the results were great. Gel coat kit
  15. Glad to see this thread. Still working on 15 off and understanding the importance of getting higher on the boat on the pullout then exactly "how to" get around 1 ball in a wide arc, finishing the turn completely, establishing proper body position then allowing the boat to hook up and shoot me across course. It's hard to get out of the habit of turning one and trying to "hunker down" thinking I am going to "make" it happen instead of letting it happen. I essentially kill my speed right now by hunkering down and putting weight on the back of the ski. I had great instruction last weekend so just need this weather to clear up so I can get out and apply what I was taught.
  16. Holy Cow @Bill22, I must be a pro because I'm bound to miss a start here or there!
  17. Ok, so this one is a year newer but I LOVE the look of it: 2013TXI
  18. Great set with solid advice. Great way to start the year! Thanks @TFIN and @skihard and all the rest that helped to make the clinic take shape!
  19. Holy Crap! The QUADRUPLE PANDA! Never seen this before! @Ralph Lee you should be proud!
  20. I transfer some ski videos to youtube. Mostly because I can then use the link here or elsewhere as needed. I remain HORRIBLE so at least I see periodic progress.
  21. @19skier , what speed and line length?
  22. Don't think it hasn't crossed my mind. Skiing 28mph on the alloy Vapor this year but only 10 passes in. Lots of room for improvement
  23. Hell @Horton , I can't run 15off without slack out of 1 (and lots of it)! Come to think of it, I can't even run 15 off!
