  1. Did anyone else see someone chopping weeds on the shoreline during the men's series 1 prelim?? Odd time for landscaping work!
  2. @rodecon and others... WWL was a great time and glad many were introduced to tournament rules. Correction though, the average was a rolling top 3 or something like that, not first three scores. Keeps the sandbaggers honest !!

I'm pulling for TGas adding to his run-off pass. That asterisk is GONE!!
  4. Water was 40, air 45... still some snow in the hills. We skied Bristol that morning.
  5. Can someone explain how Will bumped TGas off third for the season? TGas lead - and then they were tied - and then Will is standing on the podium.... ??
  6. Looks great @hacker. Looks familiar too! This pic was March last year.
  7. Does anyone have an opinion on the 2021 Carbitex Vapors Fit? Do they run big or small? If I am a half size, do I go up or down? (they are whole sizes, no halves)
  8. Huh.... @andjules maybe you should look up the definition of opinion
  9. Another vote for SN 206. Full open bow and good wake. 15 is good, 22 has a bump, 28 and shorter is money. Mine is a 2009 with the 343 and zero off.
  10. @skihacker Skied Keuka last weekend and water was down and clear. The gates have been full open for 2 weeks. Some epic rain before you got there unfortunately....
  11. Long thread for simple solution. With PP, take the skier up with normal hand throttle, get to rpm and then just a bit more.... it locks in fine. Crushing it will overshoot.

    Boat destroyed

@VI782 - So sad to hear about your boat. It brings back a lot of bad memories, I too lost my boat of 16 years to a winter storage fire. It was an 88 Ski Nautique. Family grew up in that boat. Kids were 10 and 12 when it burned. I ended up with an open bow, 2009 SN 206 and could not be happier. Great power, seating and wake, and has the open bow which is a must with the family. Check out one of them, probably not the best wake-sport boat though.
  13. Great event and webcast for certain. TGas was a scratch? Hope he is ok.
  14. How do you store the rope? Don't know if it helps but when I coil the rope after a set I make sure it is not twisted, then hang it. If its gotta lay around in the boat for a while, I'll untwist and coil again when it is out of the boat.
  15. I'm too far away... Let's go IN ballers, make it happen!
  16. Here is a vote for the SN 206. I have a 2009 with the PCM343. Great fit/finish, handling, reliability and lots of power. Open bow is great for kids and also lugging the portable course buoys, reel or parts - so it is a great all around big-lake boat. Bump at -15 and -22 is definately larger than the 196, but it is frothy, not crazy stiff. At -28 and after not sure it is much different at all, although to be honest I don't get chances past -28 yet. Pretty regularly ski a 2008 SN 196, 2007 Malibu LXi, 2009 SN 206 and 2007 MC 197. Of that genre boat, we all love the 196, but if you need the open bow I think the 206 or late model LXi is a great choice.
  17. Skied with @Rodecon and Mike G on Conesus Nov 04. Sadly unlike some comments above... drysuit, hats all required up here now.
  18. RE: Bode waterskiing..... I have not witnessed Bode waterskiing, but I know for certain it IS in his lineage. His family grew up in the mountains and lakes of NY/VM/NH. I ski regularly with his Uncle @sailworks who is a beast and won NYS Men's 7 a couple years ago. In the North, it is common to cross over, and so many things are the same.
  19. I'll miss having the issues conspicuously laying around at the cottage, there for newbies to glaze at on rainy days, or just after they've tried skiing, or seen someone cutting glass at dawn.... you can't have that kind of pick-up access from a phone or tablet. Know what I mean?
  20. Use your normal ski gloves - but with Vinyl surgical gloves underneath. You can get a box of them for $4. Provides a great barrier for convective losses. Retains some heat as well. When you drop, keeps hands up.
  21. IMO the magazine slid out of favor when the format change/Todd leaving...... It used to be a highlight seeing that in the mail pile amid all the bills and un-solicited crap. Something nice to have laying around, and anybody could pick up. I remember countless times having that on the porch at the cottage, and newcomers would pick it up and spark an interest.
  22. Shout out to @theboardingschool for a great site and @FWinter for great coaching! It is a treat skiing with the Champ!! Really enjoyed time there, and looking forward to another set. The staff Jimmy (and helper, sorry forgot name) even got my rental car running after it died... full service organization for sure !! Don't pass it up if you have the chance.
  23. Freakin Champ signed my Freakin Ski !!!
  24. Another vote for Wade! This past Friday, about 14 skiers (not sure of official count) skied with Wade at HiddenPass. Wade was outstanding. If you get the chance, do not pass it up!!! Thanks also to Jim and Dean.
