These 3 photos remind me how lucky I am to have our lake 3 mins down the road. This was an early morning last summer. Put the boat in at 5.30 when it was still dark and skied whilst the steam rose off the water for 4 hours with no one in sight.

Interesting study. I'm not familiar with what difference a 4 blade to 3 blade would make. Can someone shed some light on that for me. And I believe @MarcusBrown had a fair bit to do with the engineering of the new prostar so you could get in contact with him for a lot of details

@MattP not holding it against him at all. His opinion is welcomed. But someone was asking for an opinion so maybe instead of a silly comment bringing down everyone who owns one he could have explained in detail why he doesn't like it. Nothing against him. Sorry @MS

@MS I find it hard that you call someone's statement preposterous when your first comment was "junk" what a stupid comment when someone is asking for an opinion. You have every right to dislike a boat. God I hate SN200s because of all 3 I've been in have had terrible fit and finish. That doesn't mean they are all junk. Maybe I was in 3 bad ones. But make your posts constructive. I love my 197. Yes it has a slight bump at 22. but good god not everything can be perfect.

I have a 2013 197 and couldn't be happier. Like others have said, there is a slight bump at 22. But apart from that exact spot the wake is to me amazing. I don't think they get the credit they deserve compared to some of the other boats. If your looking for a tournament boat that you can have a day with friends in at a public lake then the 197 with a mini tower or the 200ob gets my vote.

Bit of a grey area. My opinion. You can't buy a binding system and buy two sets of boots and just because you don't like them send them back. That's not how the world works. unless a company has a specific demo program than you have no leg to stand on in that regard. With the issues about the glue. I agree with you. An 850 dollar binding system shouldn't have this problem and for that cost I don't think it is fair for ob4 to be telling customers to glue it back on themselves. They should be getting the affected customers to send the binding plates back to them for an exchange plate. Don't forget these are high performance expensive products. You buy a Lamborghini and imagine the uproar and views of the company if they told you to fix a know issue yourself. I think your in every right to ask for new plates. But to demand a whole refund just because you don't like the system, well I think you should try and sell them second hand to someone.

Im Aaron Phillips. Live in Lithgow NSW Australia. Have been skiing socially for over 20yrs with my family. On my Honeymoon 4 years ago I went to Sunset lakes and had some lessons and ran the course with Jon Travers and fell involve with slalom. Since then Ive purchased a 2013 PS197. Our local lake is only 4 minutes down the road from me so we pretty much live there every weekend except public holiday weekends due to crowds. No kids as of yet but this sport makes me want kids more and more everyday.

very interesting question. From what I see there is a lot of goode and D3 up the top of all the divisions followed by HO and radar. What I notice on this forum when new skis come up is there is more talk about radar and good products. I know in every ski shop I have been to it's pretty much a selection of HO and Radar plus a little bit of O'Brien/Connelly. Horton is spot on. I think people generally ski on what is available in there area which of course would influence podium results. I would love to try a d3 but it would mean 5-6 hours travel north or south to demo one.

@rodltg2 tell me about it. But id rather have a goose egg on my head than look like a goose with a tower that looks as tall as my boat is long.

I have a 2013 197 with a mini tower and have skied a 197 without and can't tell any discernible difference. With our mini tower the rear legs are way forward of the pylon so won't interfere with the rope. Not that it will every worry me lol. I love having the tower to keep the skis off the floor. Only really use the top tow point when people want to kneeboard.

@Than_Bogan sorry mate I was only trying to defend your product. It just looks ordinary scrolling through the posts and seeing a title that says OB4 issues. And I understand that the poster may get a pass for having 5 sets but it was never mentioned that they were happy with the product. Your call but I would go about it a lot differently. I'm sure you will sort the issue out for him. Side note. I'm looking at purchasing a dual ob4 to suit some exos. Will contact you and mike soon.

I really hope that you have personally contacted OB4 to talk about the issue. Only 2 posts and one of them is publicly complaining about a product is not a good look

@Than_Bogan totally agree with the skis devolpment but bindings not so much. Release systems yes but actually bindings no. Look at snow ski and snowboard boot technology and quality of construction and if we want releasable tech we have to make do with let's be honest $100 rollerblade shells. I will be excited when a company brings out a full boa boot I can use with an OB4 release. Until then I'll stick to the exos.
