I went with Phoenix and it’s a pretty good trailer (single axle). BUT...it takes time to make and deliver. I almost got stuck in the ice and it was an overall PITA. FIgure you’ve got 8-10 weeks to make a trailer.

They do. Both boots are mounted to the rail. During a bad crash, the rail is what actually pops free from the bindings. You’re essentially levering “lips” over the ends of the rail.

Knowing the group that leased you the boat before and their penchant for wanting the exposure, it’s probably a pretty good sized loss for them to continue. Was their any damage? Was maintenance done on schedule? Maybe it’s the short timeframe for usage. They’ve always seemed like a company that WANTS to help/work with people. I DID hear that there was significant damage to a boat they leased to the MSU Wakeboarding Team. EIther way, good luck. As a MSU Grad myself, I look back on my time and wished I’d competed back then.

So I stumbled across a small pile of these still in boxes. I’ve got 8 pair of boots and 8 pair of binding/rails (with the levers, screws, and everything). Not sure if anyone is interested, but I like them because I broke an ankle several years back and the fact that these release gives me piece of mind while still providing performance. I’m willing to sell them pretty cheap ($100 + shipping). Mounts direct to the last several years of HO skis, but I’ve got one adapter plate too ($80 + shipping). Sizes are 6, 9, 10, 11, and 12/13. The cold can be invigorating... The winter here last year was light. But we'll ski in the 40's regularly. Occasionally, less.

On barefoot switches: "Just kinda jump up and turn as fast as you can...".

Definitely not dead. With the cost of boats these days, people are buying for wake/surf and slalom. You can easily use a slalom boat for barefooting. But to spend another $60,000 on a new "barefoot boat?!" Yeah. No.

My MC 197 (2003 with the Cadillac 6.0) does great for footin. I just have the mini tower for longline and its more than adequate.

72 in West Michigan. Put in a set. Felt terrible with the wind and chop. But hell, i skied again. It's just always fascinating to me how first sets look, feel, etc.

That's probably a smart move epnault. Just turned 40 and keep waiting for the "other shoe to drop". Happily surprised so far that it hasn't.
