  1. Had this same issue after my MC trailer got destroyed in an accident. Don’t wait. Finding them is difficult and you can’t use one for a different boat. I went with Phoenix and it’s a pretty good trailer (single axle). BUT...it takes time to make and deliver. I almost got stuck in the ice and it was an overall PITA. FIgure you’ve got 8-10 weeks to make a trailer.

  3. Oh that?! That was the sun smiling on me last night making an exceptionally good freeski run.
  4. Yes. $100 for all. I’ve sold the adapter plate.
  5. They do. Both boots are mounted to the rail. During a bad crash, the rail is what actually pops free from the bindings. You’re essentially levering “lips” over the ends of the rail.
  6. Knowing the group that leased you the boat before and their penchant for wanting the exposure, it’s probably a pretty good sized loss for them to continue. Was their any damage? Was maintenance done on schedule? Maybe it’s the short timeframe for usage. They’ve always seemed like a company that WANTS to help/work with people. I DID hear that there was significant damage to a boat they leased to the MSU Wakeboarding Team. EIther way, good luck. As a MSU Grad myself, I look back on my time and wished I’d competed back then.
  7. So I stumbled across a small pile of these still in boxes. I’ve got 8 pair of boots and 8 pair of binding/rails (with the levers, screws, and everything). Not sure if anyone is interested, but I like them because I broke an ankle several years back and the fact that these release gives me piece of mind while still providing performance. I’m willing to sell them pretty cheap ($100 + shipping). Mounts direct to the last several years of HO skis, but I’ve got one adapter plate too ($80 + shipping). Sizes are 6, 9, 10, 11, and 12/13. Great bindings for a really great price. HO Promo video on UTube:
  8. The cold can be invigorating... The winter here last year was light. But we'll ski in the 40's regularly. Occasionally, less.
  9. On barefoot switches: "Just kinda jump up and turn as fast as you can...".
  10. Definitely not dead. With the cost of boats these days, people are buying for wake/surf and slalom. You can easily use a slalom boat for barefooting. But to spend another $60,000 on a new "barefoot boat?!" Yeah. No.
  11. My MC 197 (2003 with the Cadillac 6.0) does great for footin. I just have the mini tower for longline and its more than adequate.
  12. 72 in West Michigan. Put in a set. Felt terrible with the wind and chop. But hell, i skied again. It's just always fascinating to me how first sets look, feel, etc.
  13. That's probably a smart move epnault. Just turned 40 and keep waiting for the "other shoe to drop". Happily surprised so far that it hasn't.
  14. Got back out this past weekend (April 2nd). Not the earliest, but not the latest ( but I WAS first one on the lake again this year). The thing that continues to surprise me every year is just how good I actually feel on the water. I always tell myself that I'm going to go easy so as not to risk falling especially as it's damn cold (54*) and I haven't been out for 5 months. But again, I felt REALLY good. Is it the lack of reference from the day before? Or just happy to be doing what I love again? Thoughts?
  15. Bill22- Hit me up when you do. There's a good size group of us skiing together (Grass Lake Ski Team).
  16. A few morning views. Grand Rapids area of Michigan. 1.5 miles of private lake.
  17. Backwards deep water barefoot starts and back to front switches. Also, continually stepping it up on the course.
  18. By monoski, do you mean an alpine board? If so, you'll find the simiarities much like wakeboarding and snowboarding. These main differences stem from being pulled behind a boat horizontal to gravity to leaning into it and being assisted by gravity down the mountain. It's fun, but don't think the two help one another. As far as winter training, yeah, skiing, snowboarding, X Country Skiing, indoor soccer and hitting the gym (been weak on that though lately). Try to vary things makes me look forward to the coming season whatever it might be. Boat maintenance is another time occupier.
  19. Would you be kind enough to send to me as well please? Similiar issues and never felt like I figured it out. Daclark50@hotmail.com
  20. I'd say that the best place to ski there in July/August is the very top, if you can get them to start up the lifts...
  21. I've only gotten into skiing a course this last year. I'm a decent free skier. Best piece of advice I received was to look ahead about 15 foot to stay "on course". Helped a lot.
  22. Texas6- She has so far! Made a few minor mods (no tower speakers anymore - my forehead couldn't handle it). Going to try and get her back in the water this weekend.
