  1. No but im guessing those sports arnt hurting for young ppl to join. Im not saying It needs to change just that I understand where @unksskis is saying. Personally I like going early in the morning. I get too anxious if I have to sit and wait the whole day.
  2. I get both sides of the story. Kids that are die hard like me will be there no matter what. But making the die hards happy is not where your going to grow the sport. It having the ppl show up that maybe arnt super interested or have figure out how fun it can be yet. Then your trying to convince them to come and there like be there at 7am screw that. Lets face it kids my age 18-25 maybe even 30 are probably on a friday night going to go out and get drunk and come home after midnight. Thats priority number 1 to them. So trying to get them to come is like pulling teeth. Then you guys wonder why nobody in that age group shows up. People like me are different. I go to bed early get a good nights sleep and im there early in the morning.
  3. 4 passes and you will be used to it. Glad I did
  4. Its not that my release person is bad. I would have the same trust issues with anybody. Its scary locking your foot in. I just need to get used to that. My guy was releasing at the perfect time. Basically right as I knew I was gonna fall he let go. It too dangerous to do it like hands where I can get messed up and drag a hand and almost go down and still save it.
  5. I may get a robbins release at some point if I actually stick with this toe stuff. Who knows if I will. I think I would rather learn hand tricks.
  6. Yeah We had it wrapped about 3 times around for the get up but I think it was still hard to hold. Idk Have to get some more practice. I would think a thinker rope that is not slick like a slalom rope would be better.
  7. Got to try some toes last night. I think in another set I could get the back. Gotta put alot of trust in the pinner. Its hard to fully commit and stay straight up and not let the foot slide out of the strap. One I thought I maybe was going to have but he pulled the rope on me. I do know I am going to either have to fill a whole runs worth of tricks or get an actual release because Im not sure if somebody could hold the rope with me doing hands tricks. Is there a better type of rope to use that allows you to get a better grip?
  8. Took a set this morning. Really wondering what is going on in my turns. Had it happen a few times this morning. It is in this video around 2 ball with the pass starting at 4:09. Its 34 15. I slowed the video down and the turn seems pretty good. Not sure what Im doing wrong but it really makes me tip toe in the turns.
  9. @eleeski just wondering what AM skier do you have? I have a 94 tbx. The trick wake is awesome. Slalom is pretty good too.
  10. Is long line still a thing? I thought it was recommended to start at 15off. Sorry i dont have and answer just curious.
  11. Ill just keep it the same then. I dont like to release. Also if i pre released then it may not look like a fall and could get a late pull. Thanks again. Ill be sure to video attempts. Thats payment for all this info right. You get to see me fall.
  12. Oh one more question. Should I set my boot release to release more easily than normal? I should prob drop it down some so it does actually release. Right now Ive got it set on 8 so it does not release. Keeps my shin fresh.
  13. Haha ok sounds good. I have a few handle options between buddies. Actually somebody just gave me a trick toe handle. It does not have a heel strap and the toes strap is pretty small. May work though. Other buddy has a nice ML handle and I can borrow that. Ill try both and see what I like.
  14. I dont really either. Was thinking of trying to learn line step overs those are kinda cool. I think toes would help with my balance and overall skill. Plus I could bust out when needed.
  15. I think I may give it a try tomorrow night.
  16. Thanks for that. I saw a rope release from a far once. It looked like a fat rope with a loop in the end. Not sure how that works though. Can you make one out of a section of a slalom rope? I Barefoot so I have a toe handle for that. Its not the bearclaw cinch kind just a normal loose strap. Can I use that? Would maybe be pretty heavy and hard to keep on your foot. I always come right out of those and sometimes hard to keep on your foot if you hit a bit or chop or something.
  17. Yeah I really dont want to do toes. I was working on a flip alot last year. I was really close a bunch of times. Getting onto the ski multiple times. But I have not practiced much this year and It has gotten way worse. Need to ride the wake all the way up. Flipping way too early and barely getting off the water.
  18. I have heard a rope release is just as good? Is that not the truth?
  19. Thanks @eleeski for that info. I really appreciate it. I was trying the reverse back wrap outside the wake last week. I got back but It was really uncomfortable and I think I fell. I need to learn WO both ways with out wrapping. Are rope releases safe? Is there a video on how to make one? Im guessing its not something I want to screw up. My buddy has a trick release kinda like this one. It makes me a bit nervous because the person actually has to pull it. The robbins is cool but new its 230 bucks or whatever and its not even in stock. Im not paying that.
  20. The trick scores are up. Pretty excited with mine at 890. Im thinking maybe I should try to learn reverse wake o. That would put me at 1000 which im trying so hard to get.
  21. For me I was forced. In a tournament you run 34 you have to go to 36. This weekend was my 3rd time making it there so I feel like I need to practice it.
  22. Thanks I will try to remember that. I guess the goal on the reverse is to mirror my form from the regular.
