  1. Landed a reverse wake back this weekend. Have not really tired that trick except maybe twice. Should bump my score up just a bit. Could not get the wake front though.
  2. Yeah I feel less confident in practice than I do in the tournaments. Glass water every pass, a good zero off boat and good driver. I always seem to ski better. Plus Im so competitive and the adrenaline is up so I always ski my hardest.
  3. I need to actually practice 36 now I guess. I think I have sped up to it once in practice. Usually the water is a bit rolly and its kinda scary at that speed.
  4. Skied well this weekend. Thanks guys. I got 3.5 at 36
  5. @lantley im sure everybody would haha
  6. It really is an easy switch. It feels a bit better off side once you do it.
  7. I had the same thing. Just flip it and run it. It feels weird for like 2 passes.
  8. Thanks I will try to remember that. This weekend is a tournament and I usually try to not think about anything and just ski. Usually the biggest thing I think about is trying to ski the pass im on. So not thinking about my 34 or 36 mph passes when Im on my 30mph one. That hurt me once in the past.
  9. Thanks @ToddL That really makes sense. I think my on side pulls are there. My off side pull is just a hair earlier right about at the trough or the face of the first wake. If you watch 4 to 5 ball I let up really early and am flat across the wake. @Chef23 is probably referring to that specific pull. I still need to figure out my off side turns. Im guessing im breaking at the waist but It really feels like I have to baby the turns to not fall. The ski seems to really jump around alot. Sometimes I loose the fin also and its not really on that hard of a turn. 4 Ball is such a sketchy ball for me If I can get around it clean ish a make a decent pull I will usually run the pass.
  10. Guy I ski with just got a 40% hamstring tear. Was from trying to step out barefooting in kinda roughwater. After about a month he is skiing again but he looked in bad shape for a bit. I dont want that to happen to me.
  11. I personally have a large glove and ski .94. I feel like I can get it in my fingers better. When I ski a large handle I grip in my palms. I dont like that as much.
  12. Oh yeah typed that wrong. Sorry the other part is right tho
  13. Yeah I tried the reverse wrap outside of the wake on the passengers side. it was still hard. I technically did it I think but then I had to let go with one hand to keep my balance and turn back around. Yeah I will focus more on the reverse wake back itself next time. I was just seeing what it was like to do it right after. I will probably try this weekend in the tournament. I care about the tournaments and scores but I want to make it fun. If im not having fun practicing then its not worth it. I just want to do the tricks that I think are fun to do. Im sure toes is fun once you learn but idk about the process to get to that point.
  14. Put the rope in between your legs. So if your LFF put the rope on the left side of the ski. Then put your ski sideways so that the tip is at say 10 or 11 oclock. Then when the boat pulls stay seated and climb out in that same direction. Dont let your ski go straight. It can fall into the rope. If your RFF its exactly the opposite.
  15. Trying this reverse wake back. It feels weird.
  16. Thanks Ill try to work on that. I still have to learn 36mph before 22off. Problem is the water is usually not the greatest so 36 is a bit scary. I worked alot on form this year keeping the boat at 30-32mph. I have not spent much time even at 34 this year. I am starting to do more 34 so it is starting to feel slower now.
  17. Thanks guys! That is one of my huge problems. One thing I do notice is when I pull longer I get alot wider and am way earlier. Doing that causes me to kinda screw up my timing. Sometimes I let go with my hand way to early and sometimes im farther outside the ball and its just weird. I dont spend enough time that wide to get used to it. I guess I need to try to spend more time doing it.
  18. This is very interesting. I thought about doing the same thing at the end of the season but boots ripped last week and the middle of the season is not a good time to learn so I bought new double boots.
  19. Because high end trickers ski private lakes and probably ski every day. I ski public lakes and get lucky to ski 3 times a week. When im on the water I want to be having fun not learning to ride around with my foot connected to the rope. I would only want to do toes when the water is good and if the water is good Im going to be slaloming or barefooting. Only time I trick is when the surf boats are out and the water is crappy which in the summer happens to be alot.
  20. Yeah I dont really have a desire to learn toes. I know it can get you alot of points but na not really worth it.
  21. Here is an update video. I feel like im skiing a bit better. 2 and 3 had some rollers but 4 and 5 look alot better. Im trying.
  22. My question why in the video did wade tell you to just sit down? That seems completely wrong?
  23. Haha that would be neat. Am not that serious about tricking and not looking to get hurt. Takes one person to be just a bit late one time to do you in. Last night I got a bit of time to trick. Worked on keeping the hand close. Was doing better but never landed one except for a one hand one. Tried a reverse wake back. Those are kind of tough.
  24. Jeff Rogers is awesome. Wonder what ski he is on haha
