  1. No need to remove the gas tank. Just remove engine cover (dog-house), remove rear bench (if installed at all), pull the rear seat back rest and the floor panel. Everything is accessible that way pretty easily. Proceed as Mateo described.

  4. I needed to follow up with them a couple times as well. Inconvenient for sure, but not the end of the world. Still would order from MSN again. And for over $550 I would sure as hell give them a call, even with 8 hours time difference.
  5. Wow - Awesome and well made looking boot! The single plate seems to have holes for a reflex (-style) horseshoe and release mechanism pre-drilled.   6. That is not a crack. More like a wrinkle in the colored/printed sheet that was put down into the press manufacturing the ski. And there’s no clear coat on d3 skis, it’s resin. Nothing to worry

  9. I shipped a 67 Connelly to Canada from Clermont a few weeks ago. Built a box as small as possible and it was only $57 UPS!

  11. My first Malibu Response, a 2005 closed bow, was sent back to the factory after one summer of usage because of hull/gelcoat issues. It was then refurbished and sold by Malibu again. I heard, it serves as a club boat somewhere in the US. I think @buechsr knows more about it. My 2006 Response lives in Texas now. It’s been used on Lake Austin and Lake Travis. We visited the guy who bought it from us a few years ago and he took us out for a ride. Was awesome to see that the boat is still in great condition and he and his wife are enjoying it a lot. Our 2010 Response was bought by someone who lived not too far from us. Never heard back from him or seen that boat again, but mutual friends told us, that he already sold it again due to not using it that much. He probably made a nice profit given the crazy boat market these days. (I sold it right before that whole covid thing went off and in retrospective I should have held on to it a little longer. Could have easily sold it for about $8k more had I only waited a few months longer.)
  12. @swbca Did you watch yesterday’s King of Darkness webcast? See young Rocketman ski at 28-30mph behind the new ProStar that supposedly has “THE best slow speed wake”? He was really fighting the wakes and got airborne every wake crossing, was painful to watch and I felt really bad for him. I don’t know if it’s really worth trying to shape your hull (and possibly ruin it in the process) just to get behind one of the newer boats with that kind of wake at your next tournament anyway.
  13. I turn off the main switch on my 2018 SN200 after every use. Reason is the (in my opinion) stupid bilge pump auto sense feature. Both bilge pumps would run for a few seconds every minute or so to check for water in the bilge. Kind of useless when the boat is on a lift. And there’s apparently no way to disable that feature. Downside - I seem to loose some of my ZO settings like the wait time beep, but I can live with that. On my 2010 Response I never turned off the main switch, as the boat wasn’t using any power when turned off. (Bilge pump had a floating switch that was directly wired to the battery, so even with main power off, the bilge pump would kick on when the floating switch was triggered.)

  17. Careful when greasing the Malibu rudder shafts! Pushing too much grease into the zerk can blow the little rubber O-Rings and make the steering very tight. @MNshortliner probably time to drop the rudder and sort things out. ?

  20. I use the HRT since 2016 or so when I switched from double Vectors to Reflex front. Works great with little time to get used to it. Not a big fan of the BOA though, so I sourced a few aluminum plate lace style HRT’s last year. These will last me a long time as they don’t seem to wear out as fast as the Radar full boots. Only complaint I would have, is the lack of a footbed (universal boot, fits left & right foot as mentioned above) and the sizing. I’m actually in between a small and a “standard” but found the small to be too narrow thus somewhat uncomfortable so I stayed with the std size and have to pull the laces super close. Still release is not an issue. And I start both feet in, couldn’t imagine kicking in that boot, but it’s said it’s possible. (Maybe if you like your rear binding really loose?)
  21. Mine is doing fine since 2015. Had to replace the main circuit board last year after a lightning strike hit the neighbors house and fried a few items in ours as well. Can’t comment on the speed other than it’s faster than using the hand winch wheel which I had to while waiting on the replacement part to arrive. What a pain in the butt that was. Here it is with the cover removed:
