Boat would sit very stable and would self-center when you drove onto the lift. Just be careful to not hit the rear cross beam with the prop. (Happened once to my wife and we ended up with a dinged blade.)
  7. Appreciate the “tip”, but the smell alone would prevent me from using that stuff on my upholstery. I clean with Babe’s seat soap and occasionally treat with Babe’s seat saver. That worked very well for me since 2006 or so.   8. Park boat on lift, use 2 heavy duty ratchet straps (slack line’s are pretty HD), attach boat to lift/cradle, lower cradle (should lift the lift up) idle across the lake.

  11. My Response had the mirror bracket mounted on the center piece of the windshield. I liked that location a lot! Combined with the PTM 140, the mirror placement was perfect. On the 200 the bracket sits on the driver’s side part of the windshield. It’s not ideal, as you always see parts of your own head in the mirror and for taller drivers it’s even worse. (That’s probably the reason why PTM sells these extensions that you see in @jayski ’s picture.) I cannot move the mirror to the center piece, because of the thickness of the bracket, I could not open the windshield safely this way because the bracket would be the contact point when the walk through window is opened.

  13. The Malibu Speed Control was a std feature back then. Paddlewheel or RPM driven. Works excellent for tubing. LOL For slalom - pretty worthless. 6 Liter Engine is a big plus!
  14. The TXI is a great boat! The cut diamond hull produces a flat and soft ski wake even at slower speeds. A very sought after boat. Build quality is great and it’s interior layout is pretty darn good. The two hatch trunk is easily accessible from inside the boat and from the platform and it holds various slalom skis. It’s handling is very sportscar-like and tracking (if correctly balanced) is great. The one pictured above though seems not to have ZeroOff which for me would be a no-go. Can be retrofitted but probably a fairly large undertaking. ZO boats have dual pucks like this one:

  18. Change out all the rubber fuel lines. Ethanol can cause older lines to collapse internally which restricts fuel flow dramatically.
  19. It is true that the neighbors got together and had been able to halt the whole project. Seeing that all too often here in Florida. Concerned residents with very little clue stepping up, pressuring their commissioners and getting a ton of developments stopped or denied. In that particular case Chet and his buddies should have taken the time to educate the neighbors before starting to build something - even though they are not really close to the development site and wouldn’t be affected much in the end. The comments these “concerned” neighbors gave are hilarious and clearly show that they really don’t know what a ski-lake is and how it is used. They seemed to me more concerned about the fact that the developers would haul away “precious” fill dirt and sell it for a profit than anything else. Anyhow - pretty sad.
  20. As much as I like Radar bindings (and their stuff and their support and all), the Feather Frame never made sense to me.
  21. Don’t know about the newer Nautiques, I assume it is operated by some kind of an actuator. Will probably need at least the ignition to be turned on, if not engine running as well. On the “original” 200’s the Hydrogate is operated by a lever attached to a simple cable. No electronics whatsoever.   22. Width problem could probably be solved by mounting narrower tires on rims with less offset. On my trailer the tires stick out of the fenders about 4cm on each side. Inside the fenders there’s enough clearance to go narrower.
  23. I guess it all comes down to what one is used to. I grew up in the old world. Having a hard time adjusting to the Imperial system, still use my metric tape measure a lot when I build stuff. Things like 5/32 of an inch sure sounds more complicated to me than 4 Millimeters.
