  1. @pgmoore The one near Bragg Creek? https://www.google.ca/maps/place/Bar+KC+Ranch/@50.9202242,-114.5731116,916m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x5370ff0000000001:0xca78b307091d5f8e!8m2!3d50.7653066!4d-114.7213626
  2. Also has anyone here skied on the Bar Kay Cee Ranch lake? Its just South of Bragg Creek, a stones throw from the Hwy 22 and 66 intersection. Hidden little gem, didn't even know it was there until recently. https://www.instagram.com/p/BmpR_7ehLsC/
  3. I do want to check out Premiere on day, seen some photos of it and look like an amazing lake. I was thinking Upper Kananaskis because it could be done in an afternoon from Calgary, but I don't feel like hitting a bunch of logs. http://hikingwithbarry.com/sites/hikingwithbarry.com/files/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/UpperKan-Lake_002.jpg
  4. Very random, but I am sitting at work, day dreaming about next years boating season. One thing I was hoping to do was launch my boat and ski on Upper Kananaskis lake. Has anyone ever been on that lake or know someone that has? Power boats are allowed on it and I though the backdrop of mountains would make for some amazing photos! There is nothing mentioning that waterskiing is prohibited, just 'not recommended'. I saw this article a while back and it gave me the inspiration to find some mountain lakes to get out on: https://www.waterskimag.com/features/2014/02/04/quick-set-4-skiers-experience-the-canadian-rockies
  5. For me its all about skiing, the snowy kind! And, hockey, mtb, golf etc
  6. @storm34 Thanks. So if you are a skier are you getting one of the these or the ski nautique? I wonder if more companies will start to make boats to compete with this
  7. So what is this thing? A Direct Drive Sport Nautique?
  8. Jake Owen did something similar a few years back, wakeboarding this time. The Wakesetter is his boat (or was, hes a big malibu guy) and does some of the tricks as well.
  9. Beautiful ski site! Try that line length at 34mph before bumping up to 36. Also you need to get more stacked and have better cut across the wake
  10. Classic song and video! One of my favourite 2 step songs!
  11. My wife is a teacher at the #2 ranked school in Alberta! Only problem is you probably don't want to come north of the 49th! lol
  12. There are indoor ski hills, why not indoor waterski lakes?
  13. Good to know you are on here! One thing I have seen so far is the lack of public courses. I think the sport would be a lot better off if more lakes had a slalom course, or it access to private lakes was better. Being in Calgary really the only place to ski is predator bay, but the cost is very high. Would be great to see some 'learn the course' or 'learn about course skiing' days for non members.
  14. I never knew college skiing was a thing until I got on BOS. Man I would have loved to go to a school with a ski team. No schools in Canada have one that I know of though so I would have had to go to the States to be on one of the teams. Sounds like a blast though!
  15. One issue I see with this is if you aren't in perfectly flat conditions it would be tough to see where the ball hits. Even in the video it doesn't look to be the most visible thing. Maybe from the skiers perspective its more clear.
  16. 48 F at Ghost Lake AB over the weekend. I might have to break out the wetsuit next week
  17. Snowing a little in Calgary yesterday, more to come down in the next day or so. I have my winterizeing scheduled for Sept 25, hope it warms up so I can get another ski or two in!
  18. I painted the bottom of the drop ski neon orange. No problem ever seeing it floating around. Its a $5 fix and you will never loose another drop ski again or spend valuable flat water time searching for it
  19. @UWSkier is right, this thread is worthless without pics! I would have to agree with all your choices (being a Malibu guy myself) except for the MC, I would put a late 90s Supra comp in there instead to round off my top 5
  20. There are a few 'show off' threads on here: Tow Rig, Tug, Ski site, but I have not seen one to show off your ski! Post your ski, what you like/don't like about it etc Heres the current ski, 2008 HO Triumph 69. I will be upgraded next spring as it was bought 10 years ago as a ski that anyone could use. It does the trick, and I can throw out some really fun turns on it, but I want a more performance oriented ski next time around. Next ski will be a 67 and narrower. http://img0110o.psstatic.com/159964071_the-ho-triumph-waterski-is-designed-for-performance-thru.jpg
  21. @Than_Bogan Interesting, I never gave the forward movement much thought. Personally I like to be more bolted down, so a double boot may be the way I go in the future as I feel pretty loose on the back foot with just a RTP.
  22. What would be the benefit of going from double boot to RTP? I always thought of double boot being higher performance (even though some of the top skiers run a RTP) When starting behind my dads old boat, I always got up with my back foot out of the ski, but now that I own a proper ski boat, I can start with both feet in.
