  1. @unksskis I think it's the 5.7. The SIA link says 343hp.
  2. I love these videos, especially the newer format of following multiple people. It's great for someone like me who just skis for fun, and has never been to a tournament. Not sure if you read this Rob, but I'd be very interested to see more of what your days are like during the week. I enjoy training, and the process leading up to events. I'd like to learn more about that. Either way, keep up the excellent work.
  3. It is amazing how inaccurate gas gauges are. I disconnected the wire to the tank on my SN 196. It would always alarm around less than half a tank. Very annoying. Then I removed the panel inside the storage locker so I can just look at the tank. If I can't see the gas level, I know it's time to add. Did the same thing with our old 1994 SN. Always lifted the backrest to look at the level. Not sure if that's an option on the newer boats, or other brands.
  4. It’s an absolute bargain compared to this 96. This one does have a new interior though.
  5. @Drago On second thought, I think I get your point. The boat above for $140K would not have been listed for $75K in the past. It would have been higher.
  6. @Drago I get it, there are options available. So, what could you get for the $75,000 in 2015 or whatever year that price was advertised? The marketing campaign must have worked, because I definitely remember it. I was under the impression that the $75,000 would have bought me a boat that would have at least skied similar to my 2007 Ski Nautique with no backseat, and Perfect Pass. I figured a brand new Prostar with a 5.7 or 6 liter plus zero off would do that. Did that price include a trailer? If not, then I agree $75,000 would not do it.
  7. WOW!!! Wasn't one of the advertising points a few years ago that you could get one of these and be out skiing for $75,000?
  8. @Hucklefin Very cool. Never knew there was a course there, or that people skied that area much. I waterfowl hunt on Poygan a lot, and fish that area a little. Lots of good times down there.
  9. I do know some people who do it. They have a Malibu surf boat, and used to wake board/surf a bit. They do this a lot now. Sounds like it is a ton of fun.
  10. @scoke I’m pretty sure I understand what you’re saying. Definitely understand what you mean about recreational skiers. Also think I get what you’re saying about being tall at a 45 degree angle. These pictures are what confuse me. What is going on in these pictures regarding being tall? Their knees look very bent.
  11. I get so confused with the standing tall part. I understand what everyone is saying, but I don't see it in practice. Thanks to TWBC, I've been watching a lot of the Hilltop event. I freeze framed a lot of the men and women. The above pictures of Dane are a great example. Everyone looks tall on the pullout, and as they are crossing the first wake. If you look at him (and pretty much everyone else) a split second after being right behind the boat, they look like they are sitting in a chair. They are the furthest thing from straight legs, and standing tall. What am I missing/not understanding?
  12. Ok. It’s no rush, so I’ll wait for an assistant.
  13. @Jody_Seal Thank you sir! I will give that a try.
  14. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to remove the backseat so I can get the floor panel up, and access the shaft packing/bilge? It was so incredibly easy on our 1994. I see there are screws on either side of the seat by the cupholders on the floor. Is that all that needs to be removed, or are there more screws and brackets?
  15. @jjackkrash Thanks for the info. That will save me some money as well.
  16. I have a slightly off topic rookie question about ropes and handles. I've read a lot about people buying new ropes. Does that mean new handles as well? I have a nice Masterline rope and handle. It still has some life left in it, but should I be replacing the handle along with the rope when it is time to purchase? Neither one is worked very hard.
  17. @dbutcher I see. Thanks for the info. You probably wouldn't feel me fall unless we were using a small aluminum fishing boat. :D
  18. @dbutcher That makes sense, but what should people do when it's only a driver and a skier? I don't ski or drive the course, so I might be missing something. My vote is 100% for the PTM Edge! Absolutely love ours.
  19. That whip drill video is so misleading. It should be called free skiing perfection, or something along those lines. It might work as a drill for course skiing, but I'd be one of the best skiers in the area if I could ski that smooth. I'd probably ride my mountain bike a lot more if I could simply do that drill half as well as Seth does. Because without a course, there wouldn't be much point trying to improve on that open water flawless skiing.
  20. @Hucklefin Good point about wakeboarding. I don't see much skiing going on, but almost zero wakeboarding.
  21. @Killer I have to disagree with your statement about access a little bit. I don't think it matters what the full cost of the boat is, it's whether or not the person can make a monthly payment. I have a feeling a lot of lending institutions can figure out a way to get almost anyone into a $200-$300K boat. Either way, glad to see you have less wake surfing boats on your lake than other types. They are all over the lake I live on, and growing every year.
  22. That was a very cool event/broadcast!
  23. @wtstapel Let me know if you want me to look at the gray 97 Ski Nautique for you that @foxriverat posted. It's on the same lake as I am. I was wondering what happened to that boat. Pretty sure there's a wake surfing boat there now.
  24. @MarcusBrown Awesome side note about the 196!!! Love hearing/seeing things like that.
