  1. @Horton I'm one of those skiers who competed in a lot of tournaments in the 80s and 90s in my teens and early 20s and haven't been in a tournament since 97. My biggest reason was my career just didn't make it possible (geographic location, working weekends, etc). I'm curious to hear your Top 5 reasons for tournament skiing decline over the past 50 years. TIA.
  2. He skis as well as a professional one event skier in ALL 3 EVENTS! 🤯👽
  3. 116 River Lakes Lane at San Marcos River Ranch is available for sale! List price is $334,900 Centrally located on a slalom course on the middle lakes. This lot is NOT in the floodway or 100 year flood plain! Features include approximately 215' of shoreline, 1.34 acres, flat and easy to build on and great neighbors all around. The community has 4 interconnected ski lakes, 4 slalom courses, 2 jump ramps, a 4 acre community park on the bank of the San Marcos River and a gated entry. 4. It's hard to believe that Font is only 230 points away from 13,000! It doesn't seem that long ago that 10,000 was a great pro score. I think in the age of social media short video clips, that trick skiing will keep building in popularity.
  5. It's great to see a new ski lake being developed in this day and age of red tape and burdensome regulations. This looks like it will be a very nice lake to ski on!
  6. I never heard who the TWBC Skier of the Day was. Pato set a pending world record. Mati got his first pro win at a really young age. Both are notable performances. On the women's side, Erica Lange skied great. I'd vote for the pending world record and Pato Font as the skier of the day, even though he came in 3rd in the finals. Curious to know how that audience poll went.
  7. I'd love to have a 5 car garage (and 5 cool cars to go in it)! It looks like you can throw a rock in any direction and splash a lake.
  8. @liquid d @rockdog I'm with both of you on this, but I thought that the scenario should be brought up due to the recent example of Jacinta. For the integrity of the sport, I hope to see athletes push the limits in any event where the variables line up in favor for a possible record performance.
  9. @Broussard and both Brittany and Mariah are really good jumpers. Interesting.
  10. The thing that blows my mind about Poland is that he slaloms with one foot in front and tricks with the other foot forward. I actually think that ambidextrous skiing helps his jumping by being equally comfortable on his counter cut and his ramp cut. Anyone else switch feet for slaloming and tricking? (I know, I know...not many trick skiers on BOS)
  11. I agree with @Horton's point above that it's a shame that elite skiers who have a chance at a record, have to consider whether they are behind their sponsor's boat or not. Jacinta Carroll broke that unspoken rule, set a world record behind a Mastercraft and Nautique cut her sponsorship (seemingly for setting a world record behind a competitor boat). Would Nautique do that to Regina if she sets a record behind a Mastercraft too? It would be a shame if she gets a great start at -41 behind a Mastercraft at an event and have to throw the handle at 5 ball instead of going for all 6 to keep in good graces.
  12. Well, this looks like it will be a shitshow.
  13. Man, Andy was even more of a bad ass than I realized when you look at it like this.
  14. One more thought about Jacinta and her greatness. She has overcome a lot of adversity to be the GOAT. Her coach passed away early in her career. She skied 3 events while commuting long distances to train while also getting an education, internship and career as a physiotherapist, started a family and got dumped by her towboat sponsor for setting a world record behind another brand of boat (ridiculous!). This lady has grit!
  15. @Horton yeah, I get your point about a thinner field of ladies jumpers but think about the consistency. No off days, no bad timing, no missing her kick 3 jumps in a row, and no mega crashes that she couldn't recover from. All on a variety of sites, conditions and continents. Just tournament after tournament in 1st place. She was competing with herself and still winning.
  16. @jdroseinc those graphics, I'd say late 90s. @Broussard might pin that down better.
  17. @Horton Her accomplishments truly do put her on a short list of greatest athletes in the history of waterskiing. 5 world records, 5 time world champion, 7 times Masters champion and 11 times Moomba champion but I think her undefeated streak from 2013 until retirement in 2024 is what is especially compelling.
  18. Has anyone in any waterski event ever had a run of wins like Jacinta? I can't think of anyone. Australia sure has produced some great jumpers for sure a relatively small population.
  19. I hope it can go to a great site where future jumpers can utilize it!
  20. I just saw Return to Baseline report that Jacinta Carroll is retiring from professional skiing after winning women's jumping at Moomba for the 11th time. What she has accomplished over her career is really amazing. First woman to jump 200' and a winning streak that's longer than 10 years. Wow!
  21. Those are pretty mint looking. You should be getting some decent offers on them.
  22. Jr men's tricks was nuts with the top 2 seeds setting back to back records. Amazing talent!
  23. Lucas Cornale running -39.5 on the Yarra for a Jr Moomba record is super impressive. It will be an interesting final to see how Charlie Ross responds.
