  1. It would have been sweet to have Jaret and Freddy jumping in the same tournament again. I hope it can still happen this year!
  2. I'm am honored to be listing for sale 128 Rustic River Road in San Marcos River Ranch. It is a 3.6 acre parcel with over 200 feet on the pristine and tranquil San Marcos River featuring mature trees and easy entry access to the water. Most of you are familiar with SMRR. It's a great place to train and a great place to live. This lot is new to the market and tucked away from the ski lakes, offering peace and quiet. Please contact me directly with any inquiries. Thanks!
  3. I'll be in Katy, TX May 4th with my 7 yr old. Thanks @nautique and @Kelvin. We already look forward to it!
  4. I think I recall reading an article about Sammy and Carl making 6 figures in the 80s when you combine their sponsorships with prize winnings.
  5. @Horton hahaha! That's fair. Just a personal favorite skier. I liked his crank on 1, 3, 5.
  6. I think this is now my top 5 list. I know that's one more than a Rushmore list but this is tough! 1. Mapple 2. BLP 3. KLP 4. Rodgers 5. Cox. That leaves Smith, Parrish and Asher on the outside. And imagine not considering Lucky, Carl, Thurley, some European skiers, etc.
  7. I think I was in 8th grade then...reading Spray and World Waterskiing and idolizing these skiers. I skied on Champion Lake a few times back in the day. Great skiing conditions but super humid and oh yeah, don't stop into a fire ant mound!
  8. That is the best D.O.C. episode yet. Its like sitting around the lake after a great day and debating who's the best and why. Yet you thoughtfully went back in time to 1980 and even 1970 in one case and had facts to back up your statements. Excellent. I like the idea of these categories: A. Top 5 Men's Slalom Skiers B. Top 5 Women's Slalom Skiers C. Top 5 Ski Design Influencers D. Top 5 Men's Jumpers E. Top 5 Women's Jumpers F. Top 5 Trickers (both genders) G. Top 5 Coaches H. Top 5 Contributers/volunteers/promoters I. Top advertisements/posters on to our teenage wall This is a gold mine of debating, digging up memories and having fun debates/conversations. Keep it up! Have some fun!
  9. Speaking of underrated Overall Skiers keep your eyes open for Dylan Schaffer. 10k plus tricker, slaloms into 39 and jumps 190s/200. And he's young and getting better.
  10. Since you're thinking from the 80s to now; some great slalom skiers you don't hear a lot about that come to mind include Kenny Auture, Brett Thurley, John McElyea, Jason Parades, Mark Crone, Simon Hill, Tyler Yeager. I think they've all been either top 20, top 10 or top 5. Cale Burdick and the guys at Denali are pretty amazing and not the biggest names these days.
  11. Just watched the rest of the videos. All I can say is, Wow! There was, and always will be, some impressive skiing by the best in our sport!
  12. Awesome! First video...sweet 1987 Nautique. Also, much more impressive is the trick run by legendary Cory Pickos of 10,800 points. With only 1 flip! 30 years ago! Wow...
