  1. How about the 18 yr old Italian skier, Vicenzo Marino! Yesterday he pb'd in slalom with 2 @ 41 off (and is currently in the lead). Today, he pb'd in jump by clearing 60 meters (60.1) (and is currently 2nd place). This guy has skied his tail off!
  2. Friday's slalom prelims for groups 3 through 1 will be wild!
  3. https://www.iwwfed-ea.org/classic/23IWWF13/
  4. 2 guys skied into 41 off today and the 3 highest seeded groups consisting of 38 more men's slalom skiers haven't even skied yet. Let that sink in. 2 guys have run 39.5 and there are 38 more guys seeded higher! We are truly in a new era of skiing!
  5. Take a little bit of an El Diablo, the turns of a Li'l Monster, the fin of an Alfredo Mendoza and the speed of a Tech 1 and you have the MOASS 😁
  6. @Horton please put Bob Marley on the payroll. He's frickin' hilarious!
  7. @rawly I can't help but think the same. Here are some scenarios: 1. He trains behind Mastercrafts at Ski Fluid with Kiwi and Jack Critchley. He can train all 3 events there. 2. His current coach switches boat brands so his top student skis behind his new sponsor's boat (not likely) 3. They keep a Mastercraft and a Nautique at Rini's and switch boats depending on which sponsored skier is skiing (doesn't seem very efficient or logical) So...I am wondering if we start seeing social media posts of Joel training at Ski Fluid on Lake Grew. 🤔
  8. @WaterLoo who knows... He might have been playing 2 or all 3 brands against each other to get the best contract. I know I would, if I were him.
  9. These predictions are not too extreme, but it'sfun to speculate: Men: slalom F Winter, Tricks P Font, jump F Krueger, overall J Poland Women: slalom W McClintock, Tricks N Ross, jump Hanna S, Overall G Bonnemann Team Gold...US or Canada? Dark horses: kid from Chile in Tricks, Dorian in overall after a big injury in June and A Nicholson in women's slalom.
  10. So...I glanced at the Nautique website and Whitney and Pigozzi are listed on it as team skiers, as they have been (Whitney in particular, for ever). Rini has a long history with Nautique and Joel trains there at Rini's site. Makes one wonder if this is the first of more announcements. 🤔
  11. @JeffSurdej thanks! Sure hope Team USA brings back the gold!
  12. An incredible talent who works hard and markets the sport well on his social media, he makes it look fun! But what gets me more than anything else is that he tricks with one foot forward and slaloms with the OTHER foot forward. Who does that?? And at such high levels too. To me, that's amazing.
  13. @JeffSurdej that's a pretty cool experiment. Can you share the placement details for each event that gave you those results in the test tournament?
  14. My college ski team had a couple of Brendellas in the late 80s/early 90s, thanks to help from Steve Tyler. They were great little boats in the day. I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for them....so many fun memories!
  15. I bet that mahogany Chris Craft sounded great!
  16. My Instagram feed has posts from usaws doing athlete profiles of skiers competing in the pan-am games so in a way, they are promoting the pan-ams. I hope they do some social media posts for the US world team skiers before or during the worlds. The Canadian association is recognizing their world team members.
  17. It's frustrating to see how seemingly detached they are. The World Championships in Florida is HUGE! They can be doing a lot of promoting and marketing. I wonder if they don't have the budget to pay someone for web page updates.
  18. @jcamp thanks. Last time I checked waterskiresults the team data wasn't available. I remember on the old USA Waterski Website that I was able to go to the collegiate tab and somewhere there pull up the actual scorebooks. I appreciate the thought.
  19. Are the collegiate tournament score books posted somewhere? I'd like to see the team scores from the recent tournaments. Thanks!
  20. @liquid d and another youngster, Nicolas Nelson running a silky smooth 39 in the second round and scoring 2 at 41. I think he's 17 or 18 years old and looks like he has a bright future too.
  21. With the wrap up of Travers Grand Prix Tournament at Sunset Lake, we are just a few weeks away from the World Championships scheduled to take place at the same site! Many times, the TWBC commentators and competitors referred to this weekend's tournament as a warm up for the World Championships. We saw incredibly high cut lines to make it to the finals this weekend. The site looks amazing. What are your predictions for placements at the World Championships? Individual events and team standings? Who are some under-dogs that you are rooting for too? OK - ready, set, GO!
  22. Great tournament with plenty of excitement in the finals, especially watching the last skiers off the dock know what it would take to win, stand up to that pressure and achieve victories. True winners!
  23. @UWSkier Joel Poland set a pending world record for Overall. Hanna S became the 3rd woman in history to jump over 190. Luca R had a PB in jump for a new Austrian record. I think there were a few other PBs or PB ties in there too.
  24. @broussard if my memory is right, there was a big women's world record jump there. What was the other world record? 21 years is a long time...
