  1. The chart really illustrates how long the current world jump record has stood and I honestly can't think of when it might get broken. 254' seems unreachable considering Krueger and Dodd aren't getting younger (the only jumpers to ever go 250+). Am I wrong?
  2. Maybe the next women to run -39.5 could be Vanessa Vieke and Neilly Ross?
  3. @Horton Did Bob LaPoint 3 event or just slalom and jump before becoming a slalom specialist?
  4. I just gotta throw this out there, how happy I am for Hanna on winning women's jump and overall after a few years of being 2nd. She's been training so hard with Jay Bennett in Zachary Louisiana for several years and it's so redentive to see that hard work pay off!
  5. @Horton I think the French waterski scene is pretty interesting. Record setting lakes, mystery scores, great skiers, etc. Its' the kind of place where you can snow ski/waterski or waterski/surf all in the same day while eating amazing food and drinking great wine. We should check in with our mutual friend, J Parades, to see what the secret recipe is in France. That is, if he isn't exploring some reef in Tahiti...
  6. I've seen his trick scores for a few years, then 2 years ago at Pickos' his little brother put on a clinic at the U21 world's. Then I started paying real attention. Last year's European championship in Italy was covered by twbc. He and Luca Rochenwald (sp) jumped lights out. He and his little brother are both tremendous athletes and seem to have a lot of fun on the water. Hope we see more of them.
  7. @MichaelGoodman that makes sense. I'm sure they planned to jump the entire tournament facing the other direction like in 2021 but when the wind came up out of the other direction, they starting jumping on the west facing ramp so the jumpers could have a headwind.
  8. I thought the slalom finals were really fun to watch. I'm happy for both winners. I think it was fun to watch the field adapt to challenging conditions and the tournament was really about who handled it best. Considering that both Freddie and Jamie weren't top seeds, we got to watch subsequent skiers chase their scores. It made for really good viewing!
  9. Hanna for the women's is confirmed. Looks like Louis for the men's unless Poland sets a world record in slalom..
  10. No big surprise on the men's and women's trick champions. Did anyone see anything particularly interesting, innovative tricks, etc? I thought that the end of Louis' handle pass was cool. He went straight from a ski line O and bounced into a wake O. It was like a video game..so fast! Patrice Martin was commentating and said that was something he innovated recently. Must be cool for all those French trick skiers to get coached by Patrice. Jump and slalom finals coming up!
  11. @Horton oh Frick, that's right. Poland ISN'T in the trick final. That's how we got into this whole thing. I swear I shouldn't multi task. I must be getting old.
  12. Both guys trick this afternoon in the final. Maybe one or the other can push their score up some. Tony announced if Joel jumps 70.6, that he'd take the lead. That is within possibility tomorrow. Who knows?
  13. Louis jumped poorly and didn't make the finals. That shakes up men's overall all over again!
  14. Very interesting. This is such an elite group! Only 15 individuals have achieved this feat in 26 years. It does appear that each decade has a higher rate of skiers joining the ranks than the previous decades, which makes sense with improvements in ski design, training knowledge, etc. What would Rodgers and Mapple do on today's skis? What would today's skiers achieve on 1990s skis? 🤔
  15. Hanna is such an awesome jumper. I'd love to see her and Jacenta compete together. They'd make for a great rivalry.
  16. @MISkier thx for the info about the glare and Asher. I was streaming the tournament whole "working" and actually got "distracted" at the end of Smith's set and all of Asher's so i didn't catch which direction he took 41 in. I guess i could rewind the webcast now that i think about it. 🤦‍♂️
  17. Any thoughts on the glare this afternoon? Winter shared some candid thoughts. I wonder if the glare contributed to some early exits. Notably, Asher.
  18. Joel Poland is the only person in the world to have ever run 41 off and jump 230' and he accomplished both feats this season! Mastercraft must be grinning ear to ear with their new team skier.
  19. I wonder what the team standings are. US, Canada, Great Britain and France are the main contenders...
  20. Joel might be back in overall contention but it's Louis' to lose. Hanna vs Regina in jump for women's overall.
  21. Fun video! I see why I had such a crush on Camille ☺️. Haha.. There's some neat videos floating around out there on YouTube.
  22. Men's Tricks had thrills and spills. Joel Poland had an uncharacteristic fall that put him out of the finals. I think the favorite for overall now will be the Frenchman, Louis Dupree-Freiburg (sp?) with Llewellyn and Kolman giving chase, maybe Poland will slalom and jump huge but idk if it'll be enough... Looking forward to some awesome slaloming tomorrow!
