  1. Hanna for the women's is confirmed. Looks like Louis for the men's unless Poland sets a world record in slalom..
  2. No big surprise on the men's and women's trick champions. Did anyone see anything particularly interesting, innovative tricks, etc? I thought that the end of Louis' handle pass was cool. He went straight from a ski line O and bounced into a wake O. It was like a video game..so fast! Patrice Martin was commentating and said that was something he innovated recently. Must be cool for all those French trick skiers to get coached by Patrice. Jump and slalom finals coming up!
  3. @Horton oh Frick, that's right. Poland ISN'T in the trick final. That's how we got into this whole thing. I swear I shouldn't multi task. I must be getting old.
  4. Both guys trick this afternoon in the final. Maybe one or the other can push their score up some. Tony announced if Joel jumps 70.6, that he'd take the lead. That is within possibility tomorrow. Who knows?
  5. Louis jumped poorly and didn't make the finals. That shakes up men's overall all over again!
  6. Very interesting. This is such an elite group! Only 15 individuals have achieved this feat in 26 years. It does appear that each decade has a higher rate of skiers joining the ranks than the previous decades, which makes sense with improvements in ski design, training knowledge, etc. What would Rodgers and Mapple do on today's skis? What would today's skiers achieve on 1990s skis? 🤔
  7. Hanna is such an awesome jumper. I'd love to see her and Jacenta compete together. They'd make for a great rivalry.
  8. @MISkier thx for the info about the glare and Asher. I was streaming the tournament whole "working" and actually got "distracted" at the end of Smith's set and all of Asher's so i didn't catch which direction he took 41 in. I guess i could rewind the webcast now that i think about it. 🤦‍♂️
  9. Any thoughts on the glare this afternoon? Winter shared some candid thoughts. I wonder if the glare contributed to some early exits. Notably, Asher.
  10. Joel Poland is the only person in the world to have ever run 41 off and jump 230' and he accomplished both feats this season! Mastercraft must be grinning ear to ear with their new team skier.
  11. I wonder what the team standings are. US, Canada, Great Britain and France are the main contenders...
  12. Joel might be back in overall contention but it's Louis' to lose. Hanna vs Regina in jump for women's overall.
  13. Fun video! I see why I had such a crush on Camille ☺️. Haha.. There's some neat videos floating around out there on YouTube.
  14. Men's Tricks had thrills and spills. Joel Poland had an uncharacteristic fall that put him out of the finals. I think the favorite for overall now will be the Frenchman, Louis Dupree-Freiburg (sp?) with Llewellyn and Kolman giving chase, maybe Poland will slalom and jump huge but idk if it'll be enough... Looking forward to some awesome slaloming tomorrow!
  15. How about the 18 yr old Italian skier, Vicenzo Marino! Yesterday he pb'd in slalom with 2 @ 41 off (and is currently in the lead). Today, he pb'd in jump by clearing 60 meters (60.1) (and is currently 2nd place). This guy has skied his tail off!
  16. Friday's slalom prelims for groups 3 through 1 will be wild!
  17. https://www.iwwfed-ea.org/classic/23IWWF13/
  18. 2 guys skied into 41 off today and the 3 highest seeded groups consisting of 38 more men's slalom skiers haven't even skied yet. Let that sink in. 2 guys have run 39.5 and there are 38 more guys seeded higher! We are truly in a new era of skiing!
  19. Take a little bit of an El Diablo, the turns of a Li'l Monster, the fin of an Alfredo Mendoza and the speed of a Tech 1 and you have the MOASS 😁
  20. @Horton please put Bob Marley on the payroll. He's frickin' hilarious!
  21. @rawly I can't help but think the same. Here are some scenarios: 1. He trains behind Mastercrafts at Ski Fluid with Kiwi and Jack Critchley. He can train all 3 events there. 2. His current coach switches boat brands so his top student skis behind his new sponsor's boat (not likely) 3. They keep a Mastercraft and a Nautique at Rini's and switch boats depending on which sponsored skier is skiing (doesn't seem very efficient or logical) So...I am wondering if we start seeing social media posts of Joel training at Ski Fluid on Lake Grew. 🤔
  22. @WaterLoo who knows... He might have been playing 2 or all 3 brands against each other to get the best contract. I know I would, if I were him.
  23. These predictions are not too extreme, but it'sfun to speculate: Men: slalom F Winter, Tricks P Font, jump F Krueger, overall J Poland Women: slalom W McClintock, Tricks N Ross, jump Hanna S, Overall G Bonnemann Team Gold...US or Canada? Dark horses: kid from Chile in Tricks, Dorian in overall after a big injury in June and A Nicholson in women's slalom.
  24. So...I glanced at the Nautique website and Whitney and Pigozzi are listed on it as team skiers, as they have been (Whitney in particular, for ever). Rini has a long history with Nautique and Joel trains there at Rini's site. Makes one wonder if this is the first of more announcements. 🤔
