  1. Competition is good...will make the aftermarket as well as the ski manufacturers all step up...
  2. On season low speed (22-24mph on a Senate) skiing to build strength, form and balance in addition to “normal” speed skiing. Off season, treadmill for cardio, snow skiing and strength building (or maintaining) with my weight machine...
  3. @thager YUP! Not QUITE as loud as the Garrett’s on a MU2 but close (different gearbox and longer prop on the Moo2). Was like glass flying this morning...heading back from MSP around 2... @eleeski was -9C here this morning not bad at all...
  4. We will be at the Signature FBO...hope the dog brought his hearing protection...those direct drive Garrett’s ALWAYS have the ramp folks doing the Garrett salute (hands firmly clamped over ear muffs for additional noise reduction!!)...
  5. Which airport? Going to be in MSP Tuesday and RST Thursday with our 441...
  6. Rule #1 for towing....Never let the the tail wag the dog.... As others pointed out it does depend how far and how fast...if at highway speeds (60+) I personally wouldn’t tow with anything smaller than a full size SUV or full size pickup. A longer wheelbase is your friend when things get ugly. What works for a 1000 pound utility trailer probably isn’t appropriate for a 4-5000 pound boat trailer combo...even with brakes... @6ball is correct...that Eco Turbo V6 in the Fords is a beast...we are specing out our new fleet vehicles (600+ pickups and suv’s) with that engine... I have a 09 GMC 3/4 ton crew cab FWD with the diesel and Allison...works great...don’t even know the boat is back there. I’ve towed my 28’ race car trailer with it (it’s light about 6700 total loaded) and the engine/trans is fine but a longer wheelbase/dually would be better for that- I’ve towed a LOT of miles and wont drive the GMC over 55/60 with the big trailer-usually use my KW to pull the bigger trailer. Just my opinion....
  7. I’m just glad to wake up every morning... Life is short my friends...live large-what ever that means to each of you...
  8. Larger diameter handle and new rope...
  9. As above except I use a thin dive boot inside my Vectors...feet stay toasty warm even with water temps in the upper 30’s. Also go to a thin dive glove below 45 water temp also...cuffs on gloves and boots won’t allow water in on starts or crashes...except OTF- all bets off then!
  10. X2 on above....get something that works out of the box with support if need be....
  11. Was going to TRY and get a ride in Dec 1st...not going to happen :( Launch is all iced up...
  12. MP4 is more effective...less bark, more bite....just say’n
  13. ’89 Brendella, 950 hours, Stargazer Perfect Pass (latest version), GPS speedo (purchased before the PP) a great boat....
  14. Scotch 1300L contact cement...won’t ever come off again...
  15. Guess I’m really done...Lake is totally iced over...
  16. Picked up 2 1/2 inches of snow today, supposed to be 47 Thanksgiving day...gonna use the skiff for a tug around the lake.
  17. Air temp 12F lake has ice- guess I’m done...Midwest has been unseasonably cold...supposed to warm up above freezing today. Brendella is winterized but my OB center counsole skiff is still available!
  18. I’m a structural firefighter also qualified on wild lands (but not carded)...those hotshot teams, and the carded wild land guys are unreal—12+ hours a day, everyday...backbreaking work with hand tools...my hats off to them... As a former duster pilot I wouldn’t mind doing SEAT flying, but it’s pretty tough to get into...and a very nomadic lifestyle... Prayers for all of those effected...
  19. You WILL figure it out...you’re going to figure out all sorts of ways to make things work...been there-done it...
  20. Nothing sounds as good as a 351 in an early ski boat...EXCEPT a 500 inch AJPE on 95% ch3no2...
  21. It’s a sad day when ya see a squirrel that can ski better than I do...just say’n...
  22. @HighAltitude @C5Quest I spend a lot of time roaming around FL450/470 as well...LR40XR Thanks for your Service!
