  1. Even different boats of the same model may feel different - always ski before you buy. I am a 15 off 30-32 skier and and happy behind a 196, 2 different 200's and a 2019 Nautique as well as two Malibu Sportsters and a Sunsetter - I do not notice the wake causing me any concerns on any of these boats.
  2. New S Line bent handle ordered - BTW 15% off thru 12/31 & free shipping - gunna see how my elbows like it.
  3. A Christmas miracle - sunny, glassy glass and 84 at HT this morning - and even managed to run 2 full passes in a set!! Spring must be close.
  4. Sportster is a different animal so not a fair comparison - and that one looks very nice for the dedicated skier & bare footer. Bet you could get him down to 15k. Glad both my pals already have one!!
  5. It may be about boating in general, but surfing is the root cause/problem. Maybe boat manufacturers should get together and figure out a way to train their surfer customers - like a mandatory class/surfer card requirement, vs having the rest of the industry be punished. There will always be those that don't give a darn, but I'll bet there are alot of ignorant surf barge owners out there that just need education.
  6. I would also be interested in the skier's ability level when this happens - is it more common in 34-36mph short liners or 15 off 30-32mph hacks like me
  7. @The_MS it was a "brisk 83" at HT this morning
  8. I think you could close this thread if everyone would just put hi octane in their tanks!
  9. @Horton Ok, you are officially invited to our Hilltop New Year's Day ski/coffee/doughnuts - please bring your 3/4, should be fun!!
  10. @Hortonsounds like time for your dry suit!
  11. Seems to be back to normal this morning, big thanks to @Horton!!
  12. @thagerthat suggests the LP1 was the bigger factor in you improvement. Would be interesting to see how you do on that ski w/o canting.
  13. @BL_Skierare you selling or buying? Is that your boat/gear in the above link?? Just being nosey, what's the backround story on all that pristine gear??
  14. @thagerDid you try the modification on the Senate? If not please do and report back - will be a nice objective test of ski vs boot change as far as what made the difference. And, did you ski the LP1 w/o the cant??
  15. @Hortonwondering if you would be interested in shipping that my way so I could give it a proper PMW review for BOS? HT has been a challenging ski the past few weeks; ice on the edges last weekend, much more pleasant today 40 degree air, 43 water.
  16. Great day; 1st time I have skied with @RichardDoane - he ran all his 28s like he was out for a free ski, and a nice 32 as well - so smooth! Thanks for getting Bruce's hot shower going!!
  17. Back at it after a few weeks off to rest the aches. HT air 30, water 45, pucker factor for sure, but at least the sun is shining.
  18. So "what if"... You guys develop some cool tests that can tell you when a ski is "no good" anymore. Now Superskier brings you their formerly favorite ski and says it's no longer working well. You test it and it still is within "expected parameters". I'll bet that Superskier will still go out and get another ski. Conversely, Hackskier (like me) brings you my favorite ski several seasons old that still works great, still getting an occasional PB, you test it and tell me it's time to hang it on the wall - probably I will continue to enjoy it as it works well for me. My point being, you can test the ski any way you can imagine, but if it's working well, the user is going to enjoy it; if they are unhappy with it, time for something new to ride - regardless of a test result. Kind of hoping this is Panda- worthy; been trying for one for a long time now!!
  19. @HortonI was ready to get one but you didn't open the package with your trusty knife - btw you should have the gal in the ad do the video next time!!
  20. @kurt doesn't look frozen yet - perfect dry suit time!!
  21. @Gale K my Wiley's has a date in the neck 9/94!! I have changed several ankle & wrist seals (easy peasy); need to do it's 3rd neck this week (this one I hate doing). Fabric is finally starting to weep so I wear my stokes shorty as 1st layer - gives me the illusion of dryness. Think I will spring for the Sea Star for Xms as I have been a pretty good boy this year!
