No name water ski lake/club is near Molalla. Plenty of ski lakes in OR and in southern WA.

can't go wrong with either. Syndicate version will probably get you further than the carbon if you are really pushing yourself in the course. If you mostly free ski and might try the course the carbon is a great ski! Radar Senate would be worth considering.

I've been a big fan of the omni. Very stable, great ski to do what you are considering. The Senate seems to be equally as good according to many here. Can't go wrong with either.

I'm using the iphone12 and ski doc orbit. So far I can't get any decent video out of the back camera. I've tried different settings, so far no go. I'll keep trying...

iphone12 here as well, so far no luck with rear camera. I've used it with and without stabilization on. Both shake badly. I do have a cheap knock-off GoPro that works, it is just so handy to have the videos on your phone.

I've been learning the course, for me that means going slow, working on form and trying not to get hurt. I've been skiing 28-30mph/15. I've been on the HO Carbon Omni and honestly love it. Very stable, easy to turn, and took me from not able to run the course to routinely making complete passes. Definitely a ski to consider. Syndicate Omni would be another and I'm sure many here would strongly recommend the radar senate. Can't go wrong with these. FYI, I'm 6'4, 195lbs, 44yo.

It works well, not perfect but the image quality is pretty good. I am interested to try my iphone12, if that works, it is definitely easier. Plus less to carry around.

I have a 2013 TXi. Great boat, love the wake, if the price is right, can't go wrong.

@MichaelGoodman, that is for about 144 fish. Wildlife department recommended 12-15/acre, lake is 12acres. They are $18/fish, so technically it is $2592.

@BCM we have used professionals to come and provide recommendations and treatments. We have been using various herbicides for the past many years and they work ok. Annually we spend approx $4k in herbicide treatments plus we add dye. We as a community are interested in non-herbicide alternatives, if possible. We reached out to the WA Wildlife Department and they do grant permits for grass carp as long as they are sterile. One of the local hatcheries does sell them with a permit from the state. The wildlife department gave us recommendations on how many fish we need/acre. We estimate approx $2500 for this alternative. Not that cost is everything but it is potentially a big savings. I was just hoping to see if this is actually a good idea, if others had experiences, positive or negative. One family in our community was worried about smell from fish die-off.

our covenants specifically mention no added ballast for the purpose of increasing wake volume. Or something to that effect. It allows ballast to balance the boat for skiing but not to surf/wakeboard. Otherwise we have a very similar statement as you have included. That being said, some of the "Youths" on the lake load 15people in their SN196 and surf behind it. Technically they haven't added ballast but the effect is the same. Safety? They are young, nothing can hurt them. This causes a lot of grief for some on the lake, but hard to stop. We have a lot of non-skiers on the lake. Our covenants also include ski boats have right of way. If someone is out paddle boarding/canoeing, they must yield to skiers. We allow them to continue their activity as long as they stick to the shoreline/dock line. Just other considerations to include.

Thanks for the input. Very helpful. Wa state allows them if you get a permit and you can buy them from a few hatcheries. Most of the neighbors are in favor of a more environmentally friendly alternative. We do dye the lake but in wa where weeds are the state flower they still grow. The only major concern was about possible massive fish death at once and a bad smell and a mess to clean up. Probably not a major concern. The sonar option sounds interesting. Is that a yearly service? Expensive?

Historically the lake I live on has done annual treatments to the lake to keep the weeds at Bay. These are herbicides that I'm sure aren't the greatest for the environment or the humans. We are considering transplanting grass carp to take over weed control. Anyone have any experience with these fish? Work well/terrible/smelly? And advice would be appreciated. I'm in the pnw and the local wildlife department does approve as the fish are all sterile.

Ski behind it, if you like the wake buy it, if you don't keep looking. You will get a lot of contradictory advice and recommendations about wakes. If you like it, that is all that matters.
