  1. @Stefan - I can't follow that link, not sure what the issue is. I searched cold water gloves and nothing came up. Thanks for the info! @Zman - thanks for the rec. Cheap and might just do the trick.
  2. Anyone try surfing/kiteboarding gloves? @jimski - I do try and keep my hands up, but good idea on the liner, thanks!
  3. Anyone have any recommendations on cold weather gloves that work for skiing? Water was 42 the other day, tolerable but the hands were definitely cold. Any recommendations? I know a shower helps, and it does, I'm just interested if there is anything else I should consider. Thanks!
  4. First time skiing in December. Cold hands and feet but totally worth it to be able to ski in December in the pnw!
  5. I'm a bit disappointed that there isn't a better fence around the pickleball court. I don't like to have to run too far. I think I'll pass.
  6. @gschorr i live on SkiView (very close to maytown) in Olympia. If you are down this way and want to ski let me know!
  7. Rare nice late November day in the pnw. Air and water about 48. Couldn't be happier
  8. @Spencer_Shultz are you worried about the boat being too loud on a private lake? Does your lake have sound restrictions? Just curious. I live on a ski lake, my house is very close to the water. On my lake there are nautiques and malibus. You can hear them but it isn't intrusive.
  9. I skied on 11/1, plan to continue as long as it isn't raining here in the PNW. So basically I'll start again in July.
  10. @bananaron - you have some competition, keep it up!
  11. Very informative podcast. Much of the info is way above my level but I have learned a lot and I have actually improved this season! It would really change the "podcast" but video breakdown of whatever topic is being focused on in that episode or other key concepts would be amazingly helpful. Its one thing to hear something but watching it with someone breaking down the how and why it works, or doesn't, would be amazing. Obviously that is a big change and a lot of extra work but once can dream!
  12. @Skichiro I'm also in the PNW, it may not be warm but as long as it isn't raining you can ski here all year long. At least I do and some of my crazy neighbors. I'm always looking for new ski friends, I have a zo boat and live on a course.
  13. Anyone every tried a Manera wet suits? They are marketed toward the kitesurfing crowd. Promise great flexibility and performance.
  14. Over/under on when the next @bananaron post about looking to buy boats? This season or next? Nice boat, good luck!
  15. I have a 2019 carbon omni - it has the syndicate fin box/fin and is adjustable. just FYI. Not that I know what to do with it.
  16. I could be wrong but the I think the primary difference between the Syndicate and Carbon omni is the core material. Syndicate has a more high performance oriented core where as the carbon has a more forgiving core. I'm just learning to ski the course and have been on the carbon omni for the past few months. The carbon omni is a great ski, very stable/forgiving but has allowed my to progress and work on form while also completing full passes. I am skiing better than ever on the omni and am actually progressing. I don't think you can go wrong with either, if you are just free skiing, the carbon omni is a great way to go.
  17. I've had the great privilege of skiing with Dennis Phillips. Great guy and gave me some great advice!
  18. For what it’s worth I paid 35k for a 2013 txi, 500hrs with same setup/zo and dual axel trailer last summer.
  19. Buy a slightly used Toyota Land Cruiser. Build and designed for a 25yr life expectancy, 8000lb towing capacity. Plenty of room for the family and incredibly reliable. Just my opinion as a Land Cruiser owner/fan!
  20. I'm sure there are more scenic places but I feel very lucky to ski here. At least when it isn't raining...
  21. sounds like I need to do a road trip up from Olympia some day. If only I didn't have to slog through Seattle traffic...
  22. you would certainly stand out in a crowd on that boat!
  23. @johnseed do yourself a favor, call @bananaron. He knows how to find deals.
  24. Love the series, I just wish there were videos with these. But still, very helpful!!!
  25. I used to live down the road in El Paso. Water could certainly be an issue. There is a race track down there that had an infield lake, some friends used to ski there. Definitely tight, but possible. There are a bunch of pecan orchards in SW New Mexico, they seem to have limitless water. I always thought building a lake in the middle of an orchard would be amazing. I've skied on Elephant Butte - about 2hrs south of ABQ. Best of luck!!!
