I won’t go negative on any other brand. Everyone has their favorite and they’re all good. But.... after trying multiple skis this year I went thru HO to demo a 68 omega. (I’m a little fat for a 67-even the omega max.) Their demo process is painless, and the ski is un-freaking believable. I smile every time I ride it.

Hey Ballers. The Abenaki Ski Club in Wolfboro NH is upgrading their ramp and are looking for a home for their older ramp. No charge, but you have to pick it up. I haven't seen the ramp personally but I'm told it's a wood ramp, in good shape, with a recent Mastercraft top. My small club in Limerick Maine was going to take it off their hands. Unfortunately liability concerns got in the way. (We're on a busy public lake). They're going to send me some pics this weekend which I'll add to the post. DM me if you're really interested and I can pass along contact info. Hate to see a good ramp go to waste....

Have you looked at the Radar TRA? Same shape as the senate but they sell it REALLY cheap to hook young skiers. Perfect for your weight.

@BraceMaker pretty sure your “Tyler twist” recommendation saved my season. I had some limited improvements with other exercises and massage. Really was just maintaining though. Tyler twist 3 times a day for the last week, and today I had my first pain-free set in months. Also didn’t realize how much the pain was affecting my skiing. Today was a blast. Thank you!

@bretonjustin based on your description sounds like the O’Brien world team slalom? I had a look at their size chart and 67 not offered. It’s either 66 or 68. I’d go with the 68 if you can swap it. Or... if you want to consider a more modern design (as per posts above) and stay in this price range you could look at ski it again.com. Lots of great used skis there to choose from.

How fast do you ski? Manufacturers size chart is usually a good indicator. Personally, I hate skiing on something too short. If it’s too short for your size/speed you’ll sink into the water in the turns more than you should, and the ski just won’t ride as intended. Within a certain range it’s down to individual preference though.

Experimented with several skis this winter. There is no perfect ski, but from each we learn. I get it.

I’ve moved mine with 4 55 gallon drums. Sank the drums and winch strapped one drum to each of the four lower cross members. Then remove the lower plug of the barrell and use compressor to fill with air. (Water evacuates the same hole you’re pumping air into). Then restore the bottom plug. My lift was not hydraulic though, so not sure how well this approach might work for you.
