I had stargazer/zbox w latest software in my 2005 malibu. Felt similar to zero off. Maybe not quite as quick to respond, but I also think that’s heavily influenced by the boat/motor...

I helped wire the lake at Swiss last year. HD over coax was tough. Signal loss required boosters mid-cable for the gate cameras. After realizing that, we used the analog signal for the boat path so we wouldn’t need 3 or 4 boosters. (Every where you add a booster you need power).

@Ed_Johnson not sure if you’re familiar with latest pp systems. Stargazer gets you GPS control. If I remember correctly that will cost around $1500. You can leave it or that or add zbox. Zbox is just a few hundred more and gives you the letter/number pull control similar to zero off.

Just noticed on facebook there is a bill in the NH house defining "wakeboat". Text from the states website is attached. This is the next step towards regulation in NH. It's sad that it's come to this. Some wake boat drivers are unaware of (or don't care) their impact on the lake and others. Too bad for those that use their craft responsibly. Also, applying the letter of the law this could also affect any ski boats with ballast, wedge, hydrogate.

@DW it covers the handhold on the top of the platform. I suspect it’s to block the spray coming up from the hydrogate that some have complained of.

@skierjp its a 2019 nautique 200 with the auto hydro gate. Not sure if it was standard or an option. Don’t let the “ski nautique” emblem throw you off. Originally was just “nautique” similar to all the new 200s. When that was damaged the previous owner had them replaced with the ski nautique badges.

Thanks to both. @Kelvin so does it sense when the boat is put in gear? Had it running on the trailer but sounds like that won’t do it. Guess I’ll have to wait until it’s in the water.

I recently purchased a used 2019 Nautique 200. I was playing with it today (on the trailer) and tried changing the hydrogate setting. No visible response at the hydrogate regardless of setting. First question, is there some trick to making it move, or... does it have an interlock that only allows it to move when the boat is in motion? And, if it is broken, will this affect the slalom wake at all, or just trick? Thank you!

Correction-178 was a long time ago. Over this time period 190 was probably my lightest.

I’m no expert but have a story re ski lengths. A used to have big weight swings depending on my ability to run (or not). Low of 178 high of 237. During this time i skied on 2 senates, a short one and a long one. (Like how some people have fat clothes and skinny clothes.) In the middle weights I preferred the shorter one, but at my fattest the short one was unskiable. Just not fun. At my lighter weights both were skiable, but I preferred the shorter. Based on this experience if I’m between 2 ranges I always go long. Your results may vary.
