    When I was a kid in the 80s there was ONE nautique on our lake, and there were 10s of three event skiers-most of us young. We slalomed, tricked, and jumped behind anything that would pull us; mostly outboards and I/Os. Then we’d attend tournaments for a reality check behind a real boat. My point is that although cheaper boats would be great, I don’t think it’s a legitimate roadblock to skiing. Where there is a will there is a way.

    Ditto Omni-easy now, and will get you pretty deep into the course.

    @pregom you might be onto something. As you grip the handle, the closer your hands the greater your elbow angle (meaning less straight). A wider grip would seem more ergonomic.

    @jenksski agree completely. I’m a firm believer in riding a ski suited to ability. Having said that, I find the omega almost as forgiving as the Omni. Faster, but still very predictable/controllable. Good luck-no bad choices really.

    But I would also say the two brands ride VERY differently. Ski on it before deciding. HO has a great demo program. That’s how I got my hands on the omega. (Which I intend to buy if you’re looking for my preference!)

    I’ve ridden the senate, the omega, and the Omni. Not the omega max. All great skis. I would say the senate is more like the Omni. Omega rides a little deeper and is faster at everything. Omega max looks closer to omega. Your results may vary.

    @The_MS more like me just being a dumbass. ?. I’m really not a snowflake! If u miss the play on “let er rip” it just sounds weird to me. If anything I’m the one that should be cancelled!
