  1. Looks alot like the old US gear handle. I liked the feel and felt like I never got split fingered by the rope
  2. I like the monkey suit - long arms/short legs. In the Pacific Northwet it gets me to October when the dry suit goes on, then back to it in May. Saves the Saran wrap for the chicken legs you eat....
  3. Without arguing the science, the perception for me is warm water gives me more time and space in the course (read slower) and cold water gives me less which feels faster.
  4. Same thing happened to me today. Depressing. Need more friends with out jobs......
  5. Great gloves! I wear mediums in the previous Radars and the new ones. Initial perception is they aren't as tight, but I feel they fit better and don't notice any play while skiing.
  6. I got a pair from Wiley's and have been on them for about a month now. Absolutely love them. They feel a bit funky when you first put them on; almost like there is too much material and you have a fingernail on the lower part of your finger. I never noticed anything weird while skiing. I would highly recommend them.
  7. +1 for rollers. Great for balance and spin, especially if you have a fixed gear bike. I have some IT band issues as well. Skiing is not the best for it. With both feet in line the Q factor is severe. Not much you can do about it when skiing, but there are a few things that can help on a bike. I have moved my cleats all the way to the inside of the shoe so my feet are wider. You can also put spacers in on the pedal spindles to move those further to the outside. They also make snow bikes if you can't tolerate being inside. Specialized fatboy

  9. I tried one on and thought it could be a good balance between security and mobility. I have ankles that don't bend as much as they used to. For me to get my knees bent where I want them I have to lift my rear heel (an entire topic itself).
  10. I like to look at the next bouy AS SOON as I know I will make it around the current one. This keeps head level and keeps you moving laterally, not down course.
  11. One of the guys in our group has one. Wake doesn't bother me for free skiing at -28 and -32. Longer and shorter get a bit nutty. Lots of room and very versatile.
  12. Wileys can do custom stuff. Call and ask 207-762-1300. You may be able to send a custom tracing of your/his gigantic foot. They work miracles
  13. I have an '06 tournament team. It is one of the better skiing boats in my opinion. I believe the bow seating is absolutely useless. The nose rides about 8 inches above the water and it is a constant battle to keep the boat dry in rough water.
  14. +1 for adding length. One that really helps me with the same thing is leading with and keeping my inside shoulder up.
  15. Call Darren at Wileys. 206-762-1300. If anyone is going to have it, he will.
  16. Looks like you need a haz-mat suit more than a dry suit
  17. Thanks @bishop8950, very well articulated. I like the target idea if I can only execute. Heading to Radar tomorrow to ski with the Wilson bros and give it a go.
  18. Slow down and try to get as wide as possible. Tell your girlfriend to bend her knees and keep her arms straight. EVERYONE pulls the handle in on the way down the wake and ends up on their back!
  19. If you are looking for big spray, try to find an old Torque Supercomp. You may not make many bouys, but nothing compares to the spray of that bad boy!
  20. @bishop8950 Great insight. You told @wish, while you are at it, accept narrow and a bit further down course to finish your turns. This is what I have been struggling with at -38 for a long time now. Do you have any tips to help a mental midget like myself accomplish this? If you are doing this at -32 and -35, do you find it more challenging to recover after a mistake? Is there more to this, other than the usual handle control stuff, at the shorter lengths than making an earlier edge change?
